So is this entire thread a lie?

I was replaying Mega Man Legends 2 recently (on stream! It was fun!), and there's this scene wherein The Master descends from Elysium to hang out with all those goofy carbons...

The Master gets a good look at the moon.

Fast forward to the end of the game, and you see Elysium from Earth during the credits and the post credits scene...

As you can see, Elysium is blue/green, and it has a "nipple", possibly where it used to connect to its space elevator, or maybe some structure MegaMan used to pal around in.

So MegaMan is definitely on Elysium, but Elysium may not be on the moon. It is probable it is its own structure/satellite.

Thus, we have no concrete proof that MegaMan Volnutt is still stuck on the moon.

I demand this farce of a thread be stricken from the forum.

Indeed. Not sure where the "moon" references began, but at the very least, it's funnier to say.

Regarding the "nipple", from MMKB:

In Rockman DASH: 5tsu no Shima no Daibouken!, MegaMan and Roll discover an enormous tower that has risen out of the sea. When MegaMan reaches the top, he finds a broken elevator terminal with the obscured term "HEAVEN" written in ancient text. Additionally, MegaMan infers the damaged top of the tower indicates it may have once been even taller. This implies the tower may have once served as an orbital elevator for transport to Elysium and most likely destroyed, severing the link between Terra and Elysium directly.

But seriously, I sometimes wonder if the curators of the Mega Man timeline ever really remembered how much time was in their timeline at any given moment. One Mega Man X5 ending involves X dreaming of building "Elysium", and that game was released the same year as Mega Man Legends 2. Could be a direct link to MML, or a plot hook to Dictator X in Mega Man Zero. Then we've got Mega Man X8, which is all about building a space elevator, which was released four years before the MML cell phone title (and four years after the appearance of the space nipple). Of course, any X to Legends connections have to get through the timeline of Mega Man Zero, Mega Man ZX, and at least one more global apocalypse... but it seems like they were once implied to have been a little closer.

.... Or some people just like using the same motifs and themes over and over again, but that never happens in the Mega Man franchise.

Whaat, I didn't know there was a whole 'nother Legends game marooned as a Japanese cell phone release. Looks like it takes place between 1 and 2 I guess?

Yep! If it's the one I'm thinking of, there are some English translated videos on YouTube from Get Me Off The Moon.

but it seems like they were once implied to have been a little closer.

I think Legends has always been several thousand years hence.

As for today's fun...

Oh yeah, and I think this was different in Japan -- different terms used between the series, so it might not have lined up as nicely. I'd need to double-check. Like, in Japan, I think "Elysium" in Legends was named "Heaven."

Legitimately, Mega Man Legends and Mega Man X had some significant issues between "timeline translations" on other terms, so I could see it going either way. In the original script, If memory serves, MegaMan Trigger is distinctly an "irregular hunter" in MegaMan Legends info dumps, which would align his title with the Irregular Hunters of the Mega Man X era. Mega Man Legends America Style just makes him a "Purifier Unit", which gets the point across, but drops the potential "Maverick Hunter" legacy significance. At least Mega gets to be an absolute unit?
