In honor of national french fry day I want to know how you go about eating an order of french fries.

I eat mine either one at a time or a few at a time.

And some bonus questions - what condiment(s) do you have with/on your fries? And do you cover the fries or dip them in the condiment?

For me it's pretty much just ketchup/catsup or cheese sauce. I will very rarely have them with something else. And I generally always dip in the condiments (if I'm even having the fries with a condiment).

Of all my opinions I find that this is one of the most unpopular:

Good frites don't need a sauce, or half the salt that's often applied.

I can sort of agree with you on the first half of that statement but not so much on the second part. But for me it's not quite so much about the quality of the fry as a different categorization I have for fries.

A single fry at a time, with ketchup individually applied to each fry.

It depends on what kind of fries I'm ordering.

Regular fries from like fast food? A few at a time. Your traditional cut fries are so skinny that one at a time is kind of unsatisfying to chew in your mouth.

Larger steak fries? Or crisscut fries? Or curly fries? One at a time is usually good.

Fried potatoes in general are good enough to eat alone, but they're also the perfect vehicles for sauce. I used to hate ketchup as a kid, but I've grown fond of it over the years. But I'll probably take just about any sauce and use it to dunk fries in. Mustard? BBQ? Ranch? Blue Cheese? Aioli? Ketchup mixed with a bunch of other flavors? Honey? Gravy? Curry? There's very little that fries don't go great in.

Then there's "Dirty Fries" and/or "Carne Asada Fries" which have become probably my favorite way to eat fries. Of course, eating these necessitates a fork, which necessitates eating a bunch at once since you just kinda have to dig in with a fork.

Thus my vote was for "it depends".

I always try to slow myself down to one at a time, and it never lasts very long at all.

I agree with this. Also, one at a time, because my crazy brain demands, that this is the only correct way.

This seems accurate to what I was going to say.
