It would be nice to see Breath of the Wild in 4K but I'd settle for any kind of upscaled resolution. 30fps @ 900p is very meh. It's not so bad in Zelda because of the art direction but I made the mistake of playing DQ11 on PS4 first and boy howdy that game is not ideal in docked mode on the Switch. Entirely serviceable but it's a little hard to swallow "serviceable" when the game looks so much better elsewhere.

Be aware that the 8bitdo controllers that lack ZL and ZR can't let you enter the menu in the NES and SNES Online menus. If there's a secret way to press them via button combination, I haven't found it yet and please tell me I'm dumb.

Probably.

They have a firmware upgrade page on their website to walk you through the process.

If that doesn't work you'll have to navigate to the controller you own on their list of products and there should be a link to download the firmware. (I haven't actually used the tool. The last time I did this it didn't exist yet...)
That universal firmware updater's so much nicer than the old ones for individual controllers. Open the app, plug in the controller, it autodetects and will update with a click. For some of the old ones, you had to open the app, hold the sync button on the controller, plug it in, and then click update with no indication that it was actually ready to update. I always felt like I was one step away from bricking the controller every time it updated.

Here's a community question: How many games does everyone have on their Switches?

Currently I have 84 games on mine (44 physical and 40 digital). I went through a small purge earlier this year where I deleted some games I've completed but didn't care that much about.

122 little icons. 26 physical (currently, have quite a few coming in physical), 96 digital (with the Switch Online apps). .......wow.

40-something games on my Switch, everything is digital except for BotW (first game I bought, wanted to save space on my SD card) and Ring Fit (no digital option). If I'd known Ring Fit was going to be permanently occupying my card slot, I would have just downloaded Zelda.

4 digital, 39 digital, plus the Nintendo Switch Online games.

I'm at 12 physical carts and 51 digital games (it was more, but I removed demos, non-games like Youtube, and the NSO stuff).

34 digital (not counting compilations individually, or that number goes way up). 11 carts, of which 4 are Limited Run issues (Night Trap, River City Girls, Streets of Rage 4, Windjammers) and 2 of which are imports (Capcom Belt-Action Collection and Kunio-Kun: The World Classics) because I'm that guy who still wants physical copies of things.

I predict a Nintendo Direct in the next two weeks. Why? Because Nintendo has announced their holiday lineup in the first half of every September since before the Switch launched.

On the subject of Pro controllers, I just got an 8BitDo SN30 pro+. I'm playing Okami on Steam with it right now and it's easily the most comfortable and responsive controller I've ever used. On top of that, you can easily flip between PC, Mac, Switch and Android. If I could pair it with my PS4 I would.

3rd party controllers have come a long way

I was gonna get some stickers until I realized I'd have to pay for the shipping and handling myself. Club Nintendo covered the S & H for me when I wanted physical swag.

$5 isn't too bad but I ain't buying a gift card just for stickers. =/

I'm really hoping Nintendo will be able to utilize DLSS (AI upscaling) technology, seeing how they partnered with Nvidia for the Switch.

I mean, the stuff's really crazy, even making a 540p look as good as a 1080p image:

With this, even a 900p image can look great at 4K, and games that use TAA such as Xenoblade 2 would definitely benefit (as it replaces the in-game antialiasing). Now the new version (2.1) even supports variable resolutions, too.

Back to the number of games question:

42 total. 23 physical carts that comprise 24 games (Guacamelee 1/2), which leaves 18 games that are not demos, including NES/SNES services.

I much prefer physical if I can swing it.

65, all digital. That's... more than I was expecting.

Any recommendations for an Arcade Stick for the Switch?

Horii has one, and that’s usually the safest bet
