Favorite Sing-A-Longs?

What are your favorite songs to sing along with? I've noticed some of my favorite songs to sing with aren't necessarily my favorite songs, though I still have to like them as a prerequisite. I'm guessing I intuitively like these songs because they better fit my singing range, though I also have some favorites that sound godawful when I'm following along.

A couple of favorites for me:

High and Dry - I particularly like this one because I sound incredible hitting the high notes. No, I've never heard a recording of myself, why do you ask?

Barbara Ann - This is just a really fun song to sing. There's so many ways to mess around with the nsme.

Hasta Mañana - One of my favorite ABBA songs to sing along with that really exemplifies what I'm talking about - this probably wouldn't rank in my top five ABBA songs, but it does rank in the top for singability. I love Chiquitita but I have a hard time singing along with it. Same, but even more so for Fernando - I don't like it as much as Chiquitita, probably in the same tier as Hasta Mañana, but I'd never put it on for situations where I want to sing along with something, because it's so damn difficult to sing for me. Also, Hasta Mañana sings even better in the Spanish version IMO.

Mary Jane - I like to alternate between the falsetto in the chorus and a deep singing voice in Rick James's parts.

Do That to Me One More Time - I dunno. It's just fun. I like to do a deep voice.

2 becomes 1 - This song just fucking rules.

Solitaire - Great song, and one I always try to sing when it's played. Always gives me fits though.

Stickwitu - This is like the only Pussycat Dolls song I know, but damn if it doesn't hit.

Also, I singing love the first half of Slow Jamz including the monologue about dancing at the club, but I always skip it when it gets to Twista.

This is a weird distinction for me to try to make, because I think I could count on one hand the songs I like but don't try to sing along to. (Side note: I was trained as a second tenor / barbershop lead tenor. The breakthrough that made me able to properly use covered tone to sing first tenor? Learning to sing along with Alanis Morrisette.)

That said, if we're going with my favorite song to sing at, say, karaoke where other people will hear them:

• Pompeii by Bastille
• Change Your Mind by Sister Hazel
• Accidentally in Love by Counting Crows
• I Will Wait by Mumford and Sons
• Pretty much anything by Barenaked Ladies, Vertical Horizon or Matchbox 20
• Weird Al, but I need to be warmed up for a lot of Weird Al, because the man has impressive range and sings very fast.

Karaoke group standbys like Livin' On a Prayer, Don't Stop Believing and Bohemian Rhapsody? They are absolute traps. You think you'll be in a comfortable range to be a tenor and then you are NOT. And then you need to pray the rest of the room is singing loud enough that they can't tell you've gone full falsetto because, no matter how good you are, you aren't Freddie Mercury.

I don't sing along to what I'm listening to very often, mostly because a lot of my favorite songs are outside my vocal range, but occasionally I'll do it anyways because it's fun. Some of my favorites:

I don't entirely know why my brain is still latched onto that last one after so many years.

Take On Me (live, unplugged version) - A-Ha
Immigrant Song - Led Zeppelin
I Can Only Stare - Sleigh Bells

I can hit the high notes in these, so it's fun to do.

Some others that I can't help but sing along with, although I have no idea if I "can" sing them or not:

Blood and Thunder - Mastodon
This Charming Man - The Smiths
Alec Eiffel - Pixies
Sound & Vision - David Bowie

I could probably go on and on, now that I think about it. I do a lot of singing along with songs. Having said that, I don't enjoy singing if other people are in ear shot. It took years before I would sing in front of my wife and she's basically the only person I'll do it around.

Brother

I hate singing in front of others, with the exception of drunken karaoke - not because I feel more confident, but because it's scientifically proven that drunken karaoke makes everyone a better singer.
