Football 2022: Time Makes Fools of Us All

What makes it worse is that Denver can't just sign a QB off the street because NFL rules state that every player signed needs to go through a six day COVID testing period before they can join the team even for practice. So all they can do is take a player already on the roster for tomorrow.

I don't have the game myself but I will definitely be going for the highlights after its over.

We're nearing the end of the season and I still can't tell if the Seahawks are good bad team or a bad good team.

Half the team is very very good and the other half is very very bad. I'll let you guess which is which.

That Giants loss is one that just makes you want to scream and demand everybody get fired.

Oof, yeah, that was tough to watch. I know the Seahawks have some personnel issues that are part of the problem. But there are some repeated failings that I will never understand. I saw a lot of the run-on-first-down offense today, and that almost never works. You can't keep a defense honest if they're able to predict when and what you're going to do. Sometimes I feel like a random number generator would be a better offensive coach.

Also, I'd pay money for teams to stop trying to run kickoffs that could be knelt in the end-zone. It's the most dangerous play in the game, and it's generally less successful than the free 25 yards.

The previously undefeated Steelers losing to Football Team made me feel a little better about the Seahawks game. The Chiefs are the only team that looks truly dangerous this year and they barely hung on against the godawful Broncos. There are no worldbeaters in the NFL in 2020.

I get the feeling that this season might actually be more balanced than usual (aside from some of the tanking teams). Most playoff contenders have some glaring weaknesses. Should be a fun post season.

I hope Washington never gets a new name, I'll be a Football Team fan if that's what it takes. Now, while saying this, I did realize that there's official Football Team merchandise, so you know I'm gonna spend some money frivolously.

The only reason the NFC West is still the best division instead of the AFC North is because San Francisco is still miles better than Cincinnati.

Also Pittsburgh is finding their early success unsustainable but that's less consequential.

I need the browns to make the playoffs this year. otherwise what was the point of any of this

I kind of want the Giants to win the NFC East just for the hilarity of a 6 win team getting a division title. The 2010 Seahawks would no longer be the worst team to make it into the playoffs!

The Browns finally did it! With them and the Bucs making the playoffs the Jets now have the longest playoff drought in the NFL.

The Football Team has a 100% success rate of making it to the playoffs. What other team can say that?

This season was filled with serendipitous Seahawks victories, but none of them boosted my post season confidence.

Now it's your turn, Washington Football Team.

God that was pathetic
I hope Russ figures out whatever's been holding him back.

Cordarelle Patterson dropping an F-Bomb probably did more to endear football to the Nickelodeon audience than anything in the actual game.

Now watching the Browns wax the Steelers, which is nice.

This Browns game is reminding me of Super Bowl 48, complete with the first play being a fumbled snap into the end zone.

I am just waiting for the rest of the UT crowd in Knoxville to go "Hey wait a minute, the Browns also wear orange and the team is owned by a guy from Tennessee! Guess I can forget the Titans after all." after seeing them against Pitt last night. Buncha fair weather, opportunistic so and sos.

wow, chiefs opening as 10 point favorites against the browns. I think they win comfortably, but it's wild to see. They were also like 6.5 underdogs against Pitt though. Vegas hates the browns confirmed.

It's probably more that a lot of people have been overestimating the Steelers. People tend to focus too much on win/loss ratio when judging teams, rather than looking more closely. As a Seahawks fan, I know better. Those issues that make games close tend to show up in force in the playoffs.

Vegas doesn't set lines based at who they think will win, that's only part of the equation. They set lines based on what they think will make money. If all the action is on one side because the public thinks they're shoe-ins or irrationally love a team and will be on them regardless of scenario, then they'll give more points to the other side to encourage bets on the probable losers and make the over/under threshold even lower in case things are more competitive. So it's not that Vegas hates the Browns, it's that America hates the Browns and they're just trying to make money in a betting ecosystem that reflects that reality.
