All Games Are Good: Positive Unpopular Opinions Mk. 2

Let's keep this going! I think most people don't like Bubsy, but that first level is legit good. Also, I love Mario's Time Machine I don't care what anyone says.

All Katamari sequels are good.

Some may be less good than others, some may be just as good, some may be gooder, but keep throwing more levels to roll around, and new and ever-bizarre Kingspeak at me, and I'll be rollin' along to your Shibuya-kei-inspired tune.

On that note, Donut County is the antimatter universe sequel to Katamari Damacy and, by the premise above, is also good.

Genuine question, does Donut County have a bad rep? Because I really dug it.

And Katamari Forever is the best of them, even with that dagnabbit hot-and-cold level.

Pokemon Sword & Shield is a good Pokemon game, it's nice that it scaled back the franchise's typical Epic Ultimate Confrontation Between Good And Evil to just an overeager guy screwing up at the very end of the game, and the graphics and music are very nice for the franchise's theme and style.

(That's probably not an unpopular opinion 'round here, but man, Pokemon fans out there on the internet have opinions about all these things.)

I love Mirror's Edge & its sequel Catalyst and I don't feel any impulse to qualify that with disappointments or how this or that aspect mars the experience.

Yes, it's a relief to back away from the increasingly bonkers stakes. It could've done with a bit more time in the oven, but it's a good game.

Yeah, I enjoyed Mirror's Edge for the most part when I played it. My only gripe is that the last couple of stages made my thumbs hurt for hours afterwards.

I'm downloading the new Control DLC so it seems worth mentioning that Alan Wake may be my favorite third person shooter of all time? It's not a genre that I'm usually that into, so that's high praise from me.

I'd say its a VERY good Pokemon game (and very pretty too. I mostly played it portable on the Switch lite but been playing on the TV recently for my daughter and man does it look great on a TV.

It's just such a fun world to wander around. Looking forward to seeing what they do in the future in this style for sure.

Yup. Even AFTER playing Ghost of Tsushima, I still enjoy wandering around the south half of Galar's Wild Area and simply enjoy the views of the lake, or go to the Isle of Armor and take in EVERYTHING about that environment--the forest, the mountain views, the ocean, etc. Total disclosure here, I would make a point to get up early in the morning to actually catch the sunrise in real-time and even cheated a couple of times by resetting the system clock so I could take photos of the dawn. My only nitpick is that you can't actually see the sun, but, man. Those bright pink and blue sunrises over the lake or the beach are always amazing.

And regarding the game itself, I'm so glad it's much more laid-back and casual than previous entries. I... kinda liked Pearl? But it was obnoxiously grindy, and I bounced off Ruby twice (original and Omega) and also Moon because of it. Sword? I've spent close to 200 hours on it and I still have Shield-exclusives I want to/need to get.

Metroid Prime: Federation Force is a fine game that is unfairly maligned by Metroid fans at every opportunity. Sure it's not a ground-breaking entry in the series, but I had a blast playing it with friends when it was released.

Yes, it was a decent attempt at broadening the franchise which got shot down by people determined not to give it a chance.

I had fun with Enter the Matrix when I played it as a teenager.

Also, I say this one constantly, but it bears repeating: the first Pikmin game is the best one in the series and it's entirely due to the time limit.

That's a shame. I absolutely adore Sun/Moon. Feel free to drop me a line for any shield exclusives you need.

I like the weapon degradation in Breath of the Wild. Keeps you on your toes and forces you to try different weapons you wouldn't have given a second look otherwise (and incentivizes you to upgrade your weapons storage with Korok seeds).

I understand the problems people had with it and agree with a lot of it, but I feel like Metroid: Other M was a genuinely good game and I had a ton of fun the whole time I played it. I even thought aspects of the storyline were fascinating.

Again, agree. The moment to moment play of Other M was great. It's the bits outside that which needed tweaking

Also fine choice of final boss...
