PolyglotDome Nomination Thread: The World is our Jukebox

Bienvenido, Willkommen, Privet, Huānyíng, and Yōkoso to the PolyglotDome, where we'll be showcasing music with lyrics in languages other than English! Usual Thunderdome structure applies, so please nominate up to four tracks in this thread. And though in many cases it'll be obvious, you can help save me some time by listing the language(s) featured in each track next to their links. Vielen Dank!

Answers to some anticipated questions:

- Songs with lyrics in multiple languages are fine, even if one of them is English, as long as the piece is, like, at least 50%-ish non-English by volume.

- You can't have languages without lyrics, so no instrumentals.

- This is a music dome, so nothing that's primarily spoken-word.

- If I were running this on the forum like a decade ago, I'd worry that the weeaboo was strong enough I'd need to lay down a rule about no more than half anyone's submissions being in Japanese, but eh, I feel like it probably won't be as much of an issue these days. Just try to mix it up.

Let's try to get noms in by, oh, how about February 6th.

Finally, this is the first time I've run one of these things, so if previous runners want to let me know what they think the easiest-to-use bracket-maker is for this sort of thing, that'd be awesome.

Get Along by Hayashibara Megumi and Okui Masami from Slayers - In Japanese with tiny bits of English

Shchedryk performed by Helena Androsova / Eileen
I want to focus on the last half of this video (hence the timestamp) which is in Ukrainian

Libera Me From Hell by Tarantula and Kasahara Yuri from Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann - in Latin and English
(I think this meets the 50% criteria but I'm not 100% sure.)

Inner Universe by Origa from Ghost in the Shell: Stand Alone Complex - in Russian, Latin (supposedly) and English
(Also not sure about this one meeting the 50% criteria.)

I have an alternate if one of the last two is disqualified but I'd have to go looking for another one if they're both disqualified.

Challonge is free and easy-ish to use if you have a balanced power of 2 starting bracket but otherwise can be a bit annoying to use. I and many other dome runners have used it before so ask us if you're having any issues.

Also, having a template that you can use to fill out the posts for the match-ups can help make things a little bit easier. I have a quick and dirty HTML and javascript one that I slapped together for the Crusing dome if you want me to share it.

(And don't forget to find an appropriate VS graphic to use.)

With my own submission that brings us to 52 songs. If we can get three more sets of entries by next week we can hit an even 64 and I can avoid trying to reorganize a bunch of byes fairly!

Nice, an even 64 now! Doors are still open through the weekend if anyone else wants to slip in, but we’ve got ourselves a full-sized contest.
