How much work do you want to do, Octo? I have a Mayflash F300, mostly because it works on so many things (Switch included), but the stock parts are hot garbage. If you don't mind changing the stick, the spring, the gate, and the buttons, it's very easy on that stick. That said, the Hori will probably come with better stock parts, but I don't think they use Sanwa/Semitsu arcade components in their sticks (I could be wrong).

While I appreciate your level of investment, the amount of work I was looking to do was somewhere in the neighborhood of “plugging this into the USB port”. Or “pairing it via wireless signal”.

I was more looking for recommendations in the sense that “this one is nice and clicky” or “this box is actually full of spiders”.

Any recommendations for an Arcade Stick for the Switch?

Horii has one, and that’s usually the safest bet

If you don't need one immediately the new one by 8BitDo ShakeWell mentioned looks like it'll be pretty good when it releases in a little over a month.

A fair bit pricier than the Hori Stick (well the Mini one at least), but offers quite a few features for the price.

Currently $90 on Amazon vs the Hori mini one which goes for $50 or $60 on Amazon depending on if you want game branding or not.

Of course since it's not yet available it means there's no reviews for it yet, so you may want to hold off until some impressions roll in.

FWIW, I've used and been pretty happy with quite a few 8BitDo products and am definitely considering getting this new Arcade Stick to use with my Switch and Mister setup.

I have not used it, but I would honestly bet that the PXN one uses the same shit-tier parts the Mayflash came with stock. I'd probably go Hori, if I was you (again, I have no experience with that stick in particular, just Hori controllers in general (including a PS3 stick) and found them generally agreeable).

More old games for Switch Online, including Donkey Kong Country 2, Mario Picross, and (in Japan) Fire Emblem: Mystery of the Emblem (remake + sequel to the first game).

At last, time for SCAT to make a comeback.

Seriously though I would kill for similar games like Burai Fighter or Metal Storm to make a comeback too.

I like seeing all these games coming out. Super Mario All-Stars plus five other new titles is like a personal best for one of these post-console release
game dumps.

Naming aside, S.C.A.T. is a great game. Awesome soundtrack, too.

Also, how did I not notice the similarities of that opening stage tune with Bayou Billy? Looked it up, and yep, Kiyohiro Sada worked on both games. Very cool!

I've been waiting for this. I streamed a 101% run through DKC1 when that dropped, so I will surely stream a 102% run through DKC2 at my earliest opportunity.

Another good selection. I wish I could buy these games, although I'd just buy the lot and be broke.

Reports are coming out that Nintendo is planning on extending the Switch lifespan by a few more years before putting out a full replacement (I assume this means the rumored more-powerful model will be the PS4 Pro equivalent, rather than a whole new generation). Honestly...good? I don't really want to spend $400 on another Switch just yet and the system seems plenty powerful enough to make gorgeous, cartoony Nintendo games. That said, I'll be happy to buy a proper Switch successor in, say, 2022 so long as it has backwards compatibility with all the digital games I've purchased. Nintendo has been super hit-and-miss about BC in the past, but I'd love to see them follow Microsoft's example this time around.

There have been rumors of a new Switch Monster Hunter game being announced this month, so this partner showcase would be the ideal place to do that. That said, the partner showcases so far have been pretty spotty...

How quickly SMT V gets tossed into the memory hole....

And yes all the signs are pointing to this being a new Monster Hunter for Switch

Great! I’d much rather keep buying games for hardware I own than buy new hardware.

I keep wondering why we need new console generations at this point. The graphics changes between PS4 and PS5 look so incremental as to be almost indiscernible.

Specialized SSDs with ultra fast read speed are nice, but I doubt many games are going to utilize it to the extent Rachet & Clank appears to and try to explore game concepts that just don’t work well with the current gen loading concerns. In most cases its probably just going to be masking the increasing bloat related to all them fancy graphical assets, which as you said, returns are diminishing on.

I agree. I used to get excited by the new possibilities in gameplay. So far I'm not seeing anything that makes me care, which bums me out a bit.

Even if it recover afterwards, that poor launch probably hurt the 3DS’s long term growth potential.

SCAT, Shadow of the Ninja, and Wild Guns are all Natsume games, which tells me we'll probably continue to see more of these golden B-tier Natsume action games from the NES/SNES pop up on the services over time. So stuff like Pocky & Rocky, The Ninja Warriors, Abadox, and Shatterhand might be ones we see in the future.

They are forever doomed!

Also, damn does Monster Hunter Rise look good!
