Default It's Mario and uh... Mr. Green Guy! Let's Play Mario and Luigi: Super Star Saga!

Growing up, I had never really played any of the Mario RPG's. I dabbled in Super Mario RPG when I was young, but I never owned it and never got anywhere. When the first Paper Mario came out, I read everything I could on the game, but I could never buy it due to being young and not having money. Then, a few years later I actually had money in time for the brand new Mario RPG that came out. This one excited me to no end, since you could play as Luigi, my favorite of the two Mario Bros. After playing through the game, I came to love it, and played it through several more times. Now, it's my turn to share my love of the game with all of you.

And now, without further ado, let's begin!

We start the game with a joyous day in the Mushroom Kingdom. It's a beautiful, sunny day with lot's of fire works. The workers at the castle prepare to welcome the ambassador from a far off kingdom.

Enter the ambassador of Bean Bean Kingdom. Of course, there's nothing sinister in that box, right?

Oh, drat. Spoke too soon. Now the Princess is going to get kidnapped. Again.

And now the beautiful day is ruined. I hate witches.

Oh, hey! It's my favorite brother! And... he's doing laundry. This Toad comes rushing in to tell us there's an emergency. With Mario nowhere in sight, he rushes into the house to try and find him. Apparently Super Laundry Boy isn't good enough for him. And so, our first game play portion begins as we take control of this Toad. Unfortunately, there's nothing of note, so we just head over to the shower. Surely he won't...

Oh no! He can't unsee what he just saw! Mario decides to investigate the only way he knows how. By jumping on the intruder repeatedly.

Aw, dammit. She has been kidnapped again. Mario rushes off to save the princess once more with Luigi in tow!

Hey, it's Peach! Wait, she hasn't been kidnapped? Well this is a first... at least Bowser is here to make things right.

In rushes our heroes! Mario screeches to a halt, although unfortunately, Super Laundry Boy can't stop and gets catapulted into Bowser's back. Ooooo, that's got to hurt. It doesn't go over well, and Bowser gets angry and Super Catapault Guy hides behind his brother.

Bowser berates the brothers for their lack of manners, and thus starts our first battle.

Mario attacks the only way he knows how, and Bowser returns the favor. Just like old times!

At this point, the Toad interrupts to ask us if we knew how to fight. Uh... a little late, right? We already started the fight! We decline his offer to teach us how, and the fight continues.

A little while later, the Toad tells us he forgot how to tell us how to dodge! Again, a little late.

Yeah! Uh... Blargh indeed! Take that you little... uh, big lizard!

Yeah, sure you would have.

The Toads finally see it fit to tell us just how the Princess was kidna.... oh right, that didn't happen for once. Anyway, it's now time to find out what happened!

Well this is uh... certainly new.

Luckily everyone has the sense to get out of the way this time.

Hey, Bowser said something smart!

Mario seems reluctant to help since Bowser asks, but when the Toads ask...

Looks like we're heading to Bean Bean Kingdom!

Wait, what? Bowser wants to help? Well... Ok, some muscle might help. Now we just have to keep Peach from speaking...

Oh, this can't be good...

And this is where I'll leave off for now. I'll finish off this part soon. If anyone has any suggestions as to how I can improve, please feel free to let me know.

The Bowser sprite has come a long way since this game, and for the better!

Ok, I meant to do this earlier, but a combination of underestimating college time and a recently acquired "No More Heroes," I just haven't been able to.

But without further ado, let's continue!

Let's a-go!

When last we left off, Peach had finished exploding her castle with her new explosive vocabulary, presumably killing everyone inside.

We start this session off with our first real gameplay section, Toad Town! This Toad here suggest we explore around Town, and that's exactly what we'll do. There's not much here, but we'll never be able to return so we'll do everything we can.

Over on the left side is a Toad who asks to see us jump. This is meant as a training in case we didn't know how. This game is pretty tutorial heavy, at least in the beginning.

Jumping up on the hedges over here brings us to a Toad who lost something "precious," and asks us to find it for him. Unfortunately, he won't tell us what it is, so it's left up to our imagination.

Luckily, all we have to do is head straight down until the symbol on A becomes an exclamation point. We still don't know what the precious thing was, but the Toad is happy to see it. In return, we get a 1-up mushroom, restoring us to half health if we die.

By jumping from Hedge to Hedge, we find a Mushroom. That's all for the left side of town. Now for the right.

In the top right corner of Toad Town, we find a Koopa wandering around. Apparently he's become separated from Bowser, and wants us to tell him where he is. Mario decides to be a jerk and tell him the wrong direction. Trust me, it's funnier this way.

On top of the Hedge, we find a Mushroom.

This poor Toad has lost a mushroom on top of a very short hedge. He can't seem to get it back, which seems to prove my theory that the red and white toads can't jump. The only reason he could in Mario 2 was because it was a dream. Anyway, we grab the mushroom for him.

I think if we say the mushroom isn't for him, then we don't get the Super Mushroom.

You know, I do more than jump! I shoot Fire Balls, and throw hammers, and all sorts of crazy stuff!

Anyway, that's it for Toad Town, so we head north, where Luigi is waiting.

Luigi tells us that Bowser can laugh, or something. Whatever.

This Toad's purpose is to tell us about save albums. And yes, every area in BeanBean Kingdom has something to do with Laughter.

This Toad tells us Bowser is right up ahead. He also warns us to save often. Nothing left to do but to head North.

Ah, my slave must be coming!

Ah, Toadsworth. Impeccable timing, old chap! You brought us a suitcase! Now we have an inventory and can check our statuses and everything!

After an explanation of what you can do with the suitcase, Toadsworth gives us 100 coins! A 1-up!

Toadsworth wonders if Luigi is going on this noble journey to reclaim Princess Peach...'s voice. Alas, the noble brother is too cowardly and is just coming to see us off.

Uh-oh, Bowser's mad at us for making him wait. Let's get up there quickly.

Well then, it's time to go. Just time call the troops! ... Wait, we're invading?

Gasp! Luigi! How could you? After all this time, you joined up with Bowser? Is this because of all the neglect over the years? Fine, Super Traitor Boy. I don't need you anyway!

Bowser decides to ask him to join because he's so eager to. It takes awhile for Super Traitor Boy to understand what he's being asked.

Wow, that's awfully nice of Bowser. I wouldn't suggest it, though. He'll probably betray him, like Mario.

Yep, just like that. Luigi has decided to desert.

His plan hits a snag when he runs into the real Bowser Baddies.

Oh my, that's quite a few guys. One appears to be missing.

Oh, there he is. Remember him? If you told him the right way, he would have been here before everyone else. There's no real reason to do it that way, and it's funnier to tell him the wrong way.

That was fast.

Bowser's like the Mafia. He doesn't like deserters. I'd hate to be this one. He's probably going to sleep with the fishes tonight.

Oh hey, it's Super Traitor Boy!

Well, he wasn't fast enough. He's in for it now!

Inside the Koopa Cruiser, a large, booming voice (Possibly God) gets the attention of Mario and Super Deserter Human.

Wow, even Bowser has trouble remembering his name.

And that's where I'll leave off for now. I may update again later today, but I'm not making any promises. Again, if anyone has any advice for me, feel free to suggest it.
