Default My weapon of destruction is crude polygons shaped like a space ship! (Star Fox VLP)

Star Fox is a SNES game released in 1993 during a time when graphics in video games were becoming a hot topic. Its also a very fun game that hasn't seen a re-release on any Virtual Console due to its excessive use of flashing strobe effects which can cause seizures. Though not on the level of anime Pikachu circa '97(98?).

Joining me for these videos is FreezingInferno. As this is my first real video Let's Play, I wish to improve my techniques. Critique is welcomed, just don't be a dick about anything ok? If there are any problems with the video(s), please let me know right away so I can investigate the issue.

Here is video #1. EDIT: Added a content table for direct YouTube link below video if embedding doesn't work for you.

TABLE OF CONTENTS
Part 1: Stair Fax (Corneria 1/Asteroid Belt 1)
Part 2: Artificial Theme Parks (Space Armada/Meteor)

What emulator are you using?
Every SNES emulator that ever existed has always had timing problems with this game. Yours is doing mostly okay, but I'm noticing some harshness on the audio, and there are a few timing problems that make the cutscenes either too long or too short. Since I'm a snob at this game, I'm probably the only one who can see it, although I expect the credits are going to be hit the worst; Snes9x typically finishes playing the music so far ahead of the graphics you get total silence for like half a minute!
The only emulator that even comes close to the way it ran on real hardware is bSNES, and that's probably because it hogs a ton of CPU power in the interests of accuracy, instead of optimizing performance with shortcuts (which just happen to cause timing problems in this game) like everyone else does.
You can find bSNES bundled as an optional core with RetroArch, or if you've got a really really powerful computer, you can download higan, the current version with a new name.

Also: Dare you to get 100% on Fortuna. This is the brown-title version of the game, so it's not impossible!

I recorded this with OBS via ZSNES, and yes, I happened to notice the audio problems with the game with not only this ROM, but the first version. This version I'm playing off of is version 1.2. So... sorry 'bout that.

EDIT: Tried this emulator and my laptop isn't up to snuff for its wonderfulness. What a pity...

I will accept this challenge! And probably fail at it horribly.

Today, I tackle Space Armada and Meteor and my co-commentator makes puns.
