So reibeatall, was Ninjabread any fun? It seems to get 1.5 everywhere it goes.

Also, I hope Bangai-O DS is good.

Aside from a few purple coin collecting bits that do their best to reach Rare proportions, yes, very much.

I wonder if Activision will actually go ahead with a 4th Guitar Hero.

Despite what FFVII has become, One Winged Angel is still a pretty sweet song. I'd love to see Uematsu compose a final boss piece to rival both this and Dancing Mad.

While I hate FFVIII, I always found Liberi Fatali to be one of my favorite compositions of his (even though it isn't a boss fight).

Does anyone here happen to know how long Dragon Quest V for the Super Famicom is? I enjoyed the part I played (a very early part), but if it's a hundred hours I'm never going to finish it.

Why wouldn't they? From what I've heard they're planning on releasing something like 4 GH games in this fiscal year or something (with 3 of them being "Rock the 80s style" cash-ins).

Not that I'll be buying any of them since Rock Band is so much more kick-ass awesome.

It's not worth $30, if that's what you're asking. It's kinda fun, and I'll probably play through the time-attack mode pretty soon. It's more a gag-game to have when a bunch of friends are over.

If they're smart, they'll release it and a drum/singing version, making it possible to link up if you own both/all three/whatever. GH will sell like gangbusters either way, plus they con directly compete with Rock Band.

As for what they'll actually do, I have no idea. Can't even fathom a guess.

...wait, here's one: since Activision is the new EA and they're huge dicks, I'm assuming they'll start shelling out more money to keep bands exclusive to their games. Hopefully no one will be dumb enough to play along, but who knows.

Well, I can't see how long I've been playing, but I'm sure it wasn't all that close to 100 hours.

EDIT: Whoops, I'm an idiot.

I'm semi interested in de Blob, but not enough to have formed any kind of opinion besides "kind of looks like Katamari Damacy, except you paint stuff".

I'm unsure as to whether my next game purchase should be Zack & Wiki or Call of Duty 4.

CoD4 is a lot more fun really, but Zack & Wiki is fresher and in more need of sales.

Unrelated to anything said prior: a warning in Wii games to have the Nunchuk is really unnecessary when the system can detect whether it's plugged in or not.

The Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark books were great, but only because the stories were illustrated with distilled nightmares.

You know, I'm right on the cusp of starting Persona 3, but I'm kind of intimidated due to how long it apparently is. What if something else important comes out in the next three months?

Then you'll probably end up ignoring everything else in lieu of Persona 3.

So apparently there's going to be a surprise waiting for owners of Pokemon Pearl/Diamond who play the game on January 12 (source)
I wonder what it'll be. Hypnotism? DS's transformed into doomsday devices?

We'll see. Rez is happening soon, man. Rez.

You know, I really do hope Persona 3 is as good as everyone says. I haven't been able to establish any meaningful expectations because no one has really told me why it's so good, but I'm certainly willing to be blown away if that's how things work out.

BioWare's Sonic Chronicles is easily the most inspired game in the Sonic franchise in years and is the best since Sonic Adventure for the Dreamcast.

I am playing me some Blinx and pretty much digging it. Naoto Oshima designed all the characters, so It's like all the charm from the Sonic series escaped and found its way onto the Xbox only to die a quick and painful death. The story delivery (no dialog, straightforward plot) even reminds me of S3&K.

Wikipedia lists Oshima as the character designer for a 2008 title, Away~Tsuresarareta Hitobito. Does anyone have any info on this one?

I adore this thread. It's so random, and awesome to read.

So I've come to ruin it.

I believe Tomm asked to be notified when this happened. And I must say, it doesn't deserve its own thread, or for that matter, to be in the other threads. I'm tempted to post some (highly tangential, but that would reflect the site anyway) objections in the comments, but...well, not yet.

backtracking a little, I just got Zack & Wiki (super late christmas present!) and I'm pretty much floored by the amount of personality and polish it oozes. I'M GOING TO BE VERY UPSET IF THIS GAME DOESN'T SELL WELL, because I am sick and tired of the Wii being flooded with rubbish games that look and play like they were cobbled together in two weeks out of the discarded scraps of other rubbish games.

Oh my god it's even better than I'd hoped. Of course he dicks around the point of how it plays and talks about whatever the fuck he feels like instead of the actual game, then spends like one sentence on the game, then on how it made him feel as if that means anything to the readers without any context of who he is, and then he drops the bombshell - Japanese games are just better.

She appears to be some kind of industry insider (insert caveats about assuming sex on the Internet here). She's provided screenshots in the past and seems reasonably plausible. It's really kind of hard to say whether she's got the straight dope, as most of the stuff we can check up easily is stuff that's been revealed a few days after she posted it (the title of the Sonic RPG, for instance).

Of course, by this point she's probably got enough of a whiff of legitimacy that she's been sent tips.

Also! Apparently the special event in Pokémon is Diamond Dust in Snowport. If that means anything to anyone, go to Snowport and enjoy the, uh, Diamond Dust.

Boooooo. I was hoping at the very least I'd get a neat rare berry with the WiFi Mystery Gift option, but this is even lamer.

I think it's already safe to say Z&W didn't sell well. GUYS THE WORLD REMINDS ME OF MEGA MAN LEGENDS AND THAT'S A GOOD THING!

Basically, 90% of the game was made for me specifically. I'm not sure if I'm happy about that (it does rule) or sad (odds of a sequel = not so good).

Zack and Wiki is on my list of games to buy. I think it'll be after Mass Effect and, uh... Bioshock. I've been putting that off for a while.
