It's "holiday 2017" in English, "winter 2017" in Japanese. Either way, it's late 2017.

The last bit of DLC from BotW will be story DLC, wherein Zelda will awaken from her slumber and show that the entire game has been a dream.

It will be the Zelda from Skyward Sword.

Then the game will become Skyward Sword.

Two Zelda games for the price of one!

You're welcome.

I'm really digging Octopath from what was shown, but also it makes me upset that the Seiken Densetsu collection isn't localized.

The Vs. Super Mario Bros. game they're going to release for the Switch has some... unexpected surprises in store for players who beat the NES game. Like, the kind of surprises you'd get from turning the handle on a Jack in the Box, except it's actually Pandora's Box.

Spoilers ahead, so if you want to be surprised and don't already know what you're getting out of Vs. Super Mario Bros., don't watch.

Well one of my predictions was spot on. Coconut cream pie was eaten.

I've only played a little bit but I immediately love octopath. Beating up townspeople is fun

I was so close to buying Crypt of the NecroDancer for my Vita several times, but I'm glad I managed to hold out.

I love that they position some NPCs in front of doors so you gotta beat em up to get in.

I follow Nintendo's Japanese Youtube channel and based upon the videos posted I thought it'd be interesting to list the games mentioned there but not in the North American one.

For Switch (Retail):
  • Winning Post 8 2017
  • Champion Jockey Special
  • Dragon Quest X
  • Phantasy Star Online 2: Cloud
  • Joysound Karaoke
  • Atelier Lydie & Soeur

For Switch (Indies):
  • Pan-Pan
  • Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime
  • Polybridge
  • Ultimate Chicken Horse
  • Tiny Metal
  • Crypt of the Necrodancer

For 3DS:
  • Shin Megami Tensei: Deep Strange Journey
  • Attack on Titan 2
  • Girls Mode 4 (i.e. Style Savy)
  • Dillon's Rolling Western: The Dead Heat Breakers
  • Yokai Busters 2

For Switch, I imagine we'll get all the indies at some point (I know Crypt was also just announced today by the developer), as for the Switch retail games... probably none of those; though I would love to finally get Dragon Quest X or PSO.

For 3DS, SMT: DSJ was already announced for next year and we'll *probably* get the new Dillon's Rolling Western and maybe the Attack on Titan 2 game? IIRC the first got a digital only eShop release in North America.

I expect we'll get the Atelier game too. That series kept supporting the Vita long after it was clear that system was dead in the water, so I can't see any reason why it wouldn't show up on a more successful system.

Deep Strange Journey was mentioned in the NA version, but it was just a logo and music.

Mario Maker meets Bit.Trip Runner meets improvisational jazz. I believe it's scored like Dixit.

It's a competitive multiplayer platformer where every round, each player can add a piece to or remove a piece from the level, then you race to see who can get to the end first (if at all). Came out on PC last year. I haven't played it, but looked pretty fun from streams and such.

Can confirm, Ultimate Chicken Horse is fun. There's a give and take between adding platforms to make the level easier vs. adding hazards to screw over other players, and you get more points for being the only person to finish a level, or your hazard taking out other people, and so one. Good party game.

Ultimate Chicken Horse is the best couch multiplayer game that I played this year. Hours of fun.

8BitdoSNES and SFCPro30 controllers are up for pre-order. Looks like they are going to be $50.

Thanks for posting! I've pre-ordered it. Been waiting for that alternative to the Switch Pro controller, and something I can use elsewhere. Now perhaps I should also consider one of those wireless NES receivers.

I *just* got the NES pro but I went ahead and put the SNES pro on my wishlist for the improved design. Then I'll have a full four player Mario kart setup!

I really want one of those, but I also kinda wish it had some sort of hand grip like a PS controller or, god help us all, those aftermarket controllers that used the wiiu pro shell mold.

So I checked randomly yesterday and the Best Buy in Palmdale had these in stock! ...But not the one in Bakersfield, where I had an appointment. Double checked before heading back home afterward, just to make sure they still weren't in stock.

Bakersfield has them in stock now. *head desk*

I eventually decided to head to Best Buy and get a Switch. Turns out they weren't selling them despite what the website said, and were instead saving them for some event tomorrow. I left after buying a Bayonetta amiibo (I'm not made of stone, ok?) and as I was about to leave the parking lot I realized there are a lot of potential places to get a Switch all sitting in a row on that street. Walmart didn't have them, but third time's the charm and Target did have three or four of the grey controller Switches sitting on the shelf.

I wasn't able to get any games or accessories at the same time, so I'm not sure if there's much point in actually opening it up right now. I could at least play the Octopath demo, though....

there's a few things with demos worth checking out and smaller download games if you are worried about filling it up (blaster master zero is fun)

The puyo puyo tetris demo is good if you want to play some simple puyo or tetris games.

Best Buy had five grey joycons Switches when I went in today and one pair of yellow joycons left. I went in looking for Metroid amiibo and, not only did they have none, they were also basically wiped out of all amiibo except Animal Crossing.

I guess amiibo are popular.
