I remember seeing a bunch of pie charts of which characters get shipped with which.

Junkrat has a wide variety of pairings, although Roadhog is prominent among them. Conversely, Roadhog basically is only ever paired with Junkrat. (There's a similar phenomenon with Mercy and Pharah.)

Torbjörn was the only person not shown in the charts, on account of being married. This did not stop more people from shipping Tracer with her nemesis than with her actual girlfriend.

Pretty sure the Junkrat + Mei ship should be known as Junk In The Trunk.

JunkHog, aka the GayBoy Berzerkers, aka the Smegma Crazies, is the rock upon which Overwatch is built.

New Mercy is already getting Nerfed.

Turns out a 20s ultra that gives you insane mobility and DPS on a support who can also AoE heal and damsge boost is problematic. Who knew?

Two new arcade options, meaning that now I can... keep playing Mystery Heroes because it's the least bad one

I am quite liking Deathmatch so far. Solo Deathmatch will probably eventually end up being dominated by the Attack class (and Junkrat because Junkrat always dominates indoor spaces on maps) but it's fresh and the fact that Top 4 gets a win instead of just the winner will go a long way toward reducing Arcade saltiness.

I take it back, this is the most Blizzard design decision ever, except this time it's doing it right.

You know, in team games Junkrat was a huge pain in the ass but at least he seemed somewhat... fair? No. Balanced? Fuck no. Less bullshit because you have however many other people to beat on and he's not great when it's not a 1v1 fight? Yeah, that's about right.

Fuck junkrat in deathmatch. Absurd burst damage, revenge kills because lol and the only person in the game with decent indirrect fire (which was always my real problem with the fucker, this mode just just makes spamming his explosives a lot more strategically sound).

Deathmatch is a lot of fun, though mainly the FFA one. Team deathmatch is pretty lame feeling.

Team Deathmatch is basically one of those QP matches where nobody wants to deal with the objective, except now that's okay.

I have the opposite view, mostly because I started playing on PC and it feels way different than console and I'm pretty terrible at it. I need the team to carry my ass.

I'll be honest, by far the most exciting thing in this patch was the report feature on consoles! I'm going to report SO many people.

Pretty sure Blizzard doesn't quite understand the ranking system either.

Matchmaking has always felt like a crapshoot.

Playing as Bastion and positioning yourself just right on one of the jump pads so that you'll bounce there endlessly in turret mode like a basketball with a gatling gun is not the most practical way to play FFA Deathmatch, but it is actually the best.

Or playing as Torbjorn and only using your hammer, that's also the best way. Wait until you see a fight breaking out and then just rush in there swinging away for 55 damage a pop and let the cards fall where they may. I'd never even seen the little icon pop up in the killfeed for 'player killed by Torbjorn's hammer' but now I do and it is good.

If you DO deign to building a turret, make sure you only construct it on jump pads. The turrets will unfortunately not bounce like Bastion will, but it is still objectively weird that the game lets you build a turret on them if you center it right and it seems to just creep people out to have it sitting there.

If all else fails, play as Pharah, never go outside or fly or fire your weapon, just aimlessly crouch-walk through the castle halls spamming the melee attack non-stop whether or not you see anybody. You will be a free-floating free bonus point to any player who stumbles upon you, and the 'this is what the enemy saw when they killed you' death replays will be delightful to watch. Eventually, despite your best efforts, you WILL build enough charge to have your ultimate ready. Wait until a player who has gotten used to your presence...and has started taking the act of effortlessly killing you for granted...comes near, anticipating another easy point from the crouch-walking Pharah that just blindly around while punching the air and yelling HRAH. As soon as they get close, have Pharah abruptly use her ultimate, bellowing "JUSTICE RAINS FROM ABOVE" while unloading a thousand missiles into the face of the suddenly panicking and bewildered enemy. If you kill them but do not die from your own missiles, quickly jump into the water to cancel out the point you gained so that you may maintain complete spiritual purity and equilibrium. Then resume crouch-walking.

I've only dabbled in Overwatch and I'd like maybe to get into it more. In the past when I played I was only playing as Mercy. Have you ever gotten into the rut of only playing one character and how did you get yourself out of it?

Mystery Heroes in the Arcade. Some people don't like it but it forces you to play as someone rather than your choice

May I suggest you play as recently buffed, fantastic sniper character Widowmaker?
