ha! I forgot about Kimo. Diego is a fuckin' nutcase though, but at least he isn't the girlfriend beating sociopath that some of these other goons are.

Joe Lauzon and Diego Sanchez are scheduled to go toe-to-toe soon right? God I bet that will be exciting. Joe Lauzon has been and continues to be one of my favorite fighters. I'm always rootin' for that guy.

so War Machine has posted even more poetry on the twitter.

then he tried to hang himself from a bedframe.

trying to decide whether I should feel bad for him at this stage, still leaning toward "probably not."

old son could be dragged behind a truck for "a significant distance" and I would still be no better than neutral on the man

He's part of a proud tradition of fighters ending badly that goes back to Theagenes but once you lay hands on the defenseless you run out of friends most riki tik, and that quite rightly

At the risk of giving a hot take, there are guys much more deserving of our pity

Even Toquinho fucking Palhares, the Lennie Small of the prize ring, is moral enough that he only cripples people inside the cage

I hadn't read anything conclusive coming out of btt about him sparring too hard. Has Bustamante changed his tune?

No. Just mentioning an unsubstantiated rumor in an attempt at humor.

I just-

Look I know that Hoost and Aerts started their careers shortly after the cooling of the Earth but even promo shots from a decade ago make them look theater discount old. What question needed answering with Hoost-Aerts 46? Who is asking it and why and can they be stopped

but man goddam either that is a really shitty Photoshop clip job or Hoost's skull is halfway to becoming the Leader as drawn by Dale Keown.

in better news Gennady Golovkin is gonna beat the shit out of a motherfucker tonight. just looked at the odds -- GGG is -10000 (four zeroes) to win and the over-under is only 6 1/2 rounds. Before the weigh-in I would have bet the over but Rubio looked like a dude being strapped in the electric chair.

I enjoy the parts of his fights where full-strength punches bounce off of him like he was the hull of USS Iowa, then he nails an i'm gon boo boo bodyshot in return. It refreshes my spirit

my favourite semmy schilt story was when he was in an nyc cab with like, aerts maybe?, and the cabbie is like "boy you fellas sure are tall! you play basketball?" and sem was like "no." and the other dude pointed at semmy and was like "he's a kickboxer!" and the cabbie said "y'all any good" and semmy thought for a long while and just smiled and said "yes."

in other tremendous kickboxer news Mark Hunt will soon fight for the UFC heavyweight title. I reckon he's at least even money to knock Fabricio Werdum's head into the cheap seats.

fabricio werdum's jiu jitsu is like 2002 nogueira mastered the kaio ken, so I have my doubts

In short, if Werdum falls back to the Coward's Weapon all is lost

One of the SA wags put it perfectly: "The real star of UFC 180 is hosting a meet and greet at your local church this Sunday"

Werdum's entire training camp nearly died from CO poisoning in Mexico. If people pray any harder for Mark to win there may be meteor strikes involved

That can be... arranged.

(Goes out to buy goat and Jobu statue)

Like, I legit jumped up and down with glee when I first heard this. I haven't wanted anyone to win a fight more since... shit, Lesnar / Mir II? And not even then, because really it wouldn't shut up all the MMA fucktards after Mir tapped him the first time. So probably Lesnar / Mir I.

... that was a long time ago.

Missed this earlier, but... you know how a comic book will never be cancelled between #45 and #49 because the sales boost you get from #50 makes up for it...?
