Okay, I want to eat everything mentioned here in the past couple days, like, right now. Can someone please ship me king cake jelly donuts, a pile of crawfish, and deep fried mozzarella rice balls? Thx.

I've said it before and I'll say it again: rich people don't know how to spend their money, especially on food. After a certain point you have to ask yourself if dom perignon gummi bears really taste that good or if you're only eating them because no one else can.

You know what would make cake better? If you put it in the freezer so you can't even taste its flavors. And what if you put the cake underneath crappy ice cream and let them absorb their flavors in a freezer for days? And there's nothing like cutting through an inch of solid ice cream with a pie server.

Ice cream cake is the worst dessert forever.

I was of this opinion until I had a homemade-that-day one at a party once. It was unbelievable.

Man, I need to find a friend who has an ice cream maker. I mean, we have one of those ball things so technically I could make some myself, but that would be a lot of batches...

Edit: no pie, no crumble. That shit is boring and all I've ever done with rhoobs.

I...I don't know how I feel about such a thing. A sweet veg with a fruit? It sounds more like a sauce. :T

You're not supposed to just cut/eat them right out of the freezer. Recommended thaw time is anywhere from 45 minutes to 1.5 hour depending on who made it. Or you can just make your own. Buy some of those premade cookie-crumb pie crusts, something like 2 quarts of ice cream per pie, and a jar of fudge sauce per pie. Thaw the ice-cream until you can scoop/spread it super easy, mostly fill the pie shell, and then cover with fudge sauce. Serve immediately or cover and toss in freezer.

I just read that elsewhere people celebrate Pancake day instead, which sounds relatively boring to me. Are there any other cool regional foods that are used to celebrate Fat Tuesday?

Alternatively, use it to be an extra in movie scenes.

The Asterix comics had this as the crowd noise in panels, I remember that's how I learned about it.

The Baskin-Robbins box said to thaw 15 minutes, which I did.
And that recipe you gave has no cake in it!

I, for one, agree. I don't want "cake", for example, I just want to eat an entire package of cream cheese frosting.

I made the mix for these burgers and will be grilling them on the barbecue this evening. Hopefully I will be making a post in the "brag about what you cooked" thread later on.

Boudin looks like a much better version of goetta.
