If you have paragon or renegade high enough, you'll get dialogue options for the two squadmember conflicts that will preserve both involved parties' loyalty. If you've been picking blue/red options and doing the occasional command prompt, you should have more than enough points in either to do those.

Or you can edit your save/NG+ it, heh.

Shovel Knight is definitely one of my favorite games ever-ever, and The Specter of Torment might be my favorite of the whole package.

It lacks the whimsy of the Shovel and Plague campaigns however. So there's that.

I said I beat Zero Time Dilemma last year, but just this week I finally finished up the last few endings. I did "cheat" on the last few puzzles since after a few months off from playing I didn't know if I was supposed to remember the answers or hadn't learned them yet.

Overall, I enjoyed it. A few better cues as to where you were in the timelines would have helped reduce random clicking, and in a game where you sometimes don't have the answer to a puzzle the first time you encounter it, a better indication of when that happens would have been nice. Don't know that I loved the ending, but it was appropriate. I will continue to play Zero Escape games if they are created.

I still gotta wait to play as Specter Knight, but I hope he plays better than Plague Knight.

He controls a bit like Ryu Hayabusa, just with slightly less control over the wall jumps. Some of the same, or at least very similar, sub weapons too.

But is his wall jump better than the Super Metroid wall jump? (The second worst wall jump of all time)

Nuh-uh, Super Metroid has the best wall jump. The amount of game-breaking shenanigans it makes possible are testament of its greatness.

Bit like Mega Man X, I suppose, except Specter runs UP.

So like the NES Ninja Gaiden games, not like the NES Batman game.

It still feels like shit, regardless of how powerful it is for speedrunning. I hate doing it to this day...but again, "Second Worst". No one wants to know what the worst is?

The Super Metroid wall jump feels loose and terrible if you are bad at doing it, and it feels flexible and liberating if you are good at doing it.

I actually felt kinda let down by the wall jumps in post-SMET Metroid games because they felt too easy to do!

I'm too lazy to do it, but FWIW, I feel like "best/worst wall jumps in video games" is very much worth its own discussion thread.

They're also a lot less useful. Fusion and Prime 2 only let you climb pairs of adjacent walls in pre-defined spots (Prime 2 glaringly so), and Zero Mission's crazy gravity makes you stick to the wall you're climbing and prevents you from getting around ledges from below.

Finished off Metal Slug 3, as the Switch port allows for unlimited continues. Which is really good as I would have spent more on credits than the game costs.

Not super enthusiastic about it on the whole, while the game's a visual smorgasbord, every level is way WAY too long (final mission must be half the length of the game alone) and a lot of them are very slowly paced to boot

Finally the world is beginning to understand that Metal Slug 3 is an aesthetic marvel searching desperately for enjoyable gameplay

Oh yes, definitely. When I picked up the Metal Slug collection on PS4 a while back, I had the idea to try beating a Metal Slug game a day. I haven't been back to it since beating 3.

It's got lovely aesthetics and it's a wild ride while it lasts, but that last stage is just too freaking long and the game's a massive credit muncher.

The world record speed run for Metal Slug 3 is about twenty-five minutes total. The final stage starts about nine minutes in.

The TAS is pretty similar, though I think the final stage is closer to half the game length

XX is to 7 as X is to 2. Or that was the idea, but there aren't many changes aside from a bump in resolution, according to the experts.

6 at the bottom! Madhair, you've been wrong before (like all the time) but you have never been more wrong. Either that or you confused 6 with 4.

I stumbled onto an early armor with an absorption rune and a couple friendly tentacle horrors and managed to ascend in Brogue.

Only took me approximately 900 tries.

Still the best iPad friendly roguelike I've come across.
