I have submitted some seriously pleb lists to previous votes, notably the one you're running right now, so I sure as hell ain't throwing stones.

Meanwhile it seems like one person maybe had trouble sending me their list for some reason? So just in case, here's the ones I've received so far:

Adrenaline
ajr82
conchobar
JBear
juca
madhair60
teg
Westerhof
Zodar

I definitely went favorites over "best" this time. Or am going, since I haven't quite finished my list yet. No books on my list that are widely considered the best if I don't actually like to read them.

I think my list would have been much more interesting a few years ago. I haven't lived near a comic shop in a while, and I mostly read manga aimed at kids and teenagers nowadays.

LIST SUBMITTED! And it's about as esoteric as my musicals list, probably, so y'all better get with the program unless you want me to wax poetic about comic books the whole time .

Getting more votes in, looking good!

Just spent some time trying to cross-check and consolidate votes where appropriate and oh my god, American superhero comics will be the death of me. Not that I didn't know this going in. It'll all work out somehow.

Gonna need to expand the spreadsheet, though as we're already up to 225 different entries - and that's after I knocked it back down a dozen by grouping variants that were subsets of one another and so on.

I thought I'd have to throw in Ranma 1/2 to pad it out even though I've only ever played the fighting game.

My list is skeweing heavily towards this. Blame my formative years being saturated with Marvel and DC stuff. My apologies in advance!

I was always a Marvel kid growing up, but my preliminary list has only one Marvel entry on it and three DC. Oh well.

Mine is mostly Marvel and DC stuff, and even most of the stuff that isn't is still basically the things they put out.

I am a man of discerning, gentlemanly tastes who knows what he likes. Bub.

Mines got a lot of Marvel and DC, but Kirby did good work for both and why shouldn't my list be 25 Jack Kirby comics.

I know I'm going to forget a lot of good ones. It is a mixed bag of superhero, manga, non-fiction, historical fiction, and all different types. So radically different, in a lot of cases, it's going to be hard to compare and decide which one is "better".

I made a list of twenty-five and then ranked them all in about two minutes! Just go with your gut, 'cause you'll end up regretting it no matter how you rank!

It's not my way. The other problem is including stuff that I loved previously, but haven't revisited in quite a while. And it cuts both ways: maybe stuff isn't as good as you remember, but also, there's stuff where you remember the broad strokes but forget how well it works as a whole.

I'm of the opinion that the order I think of things must also be the order I like them.

Then I just double check to make sure I didn't list things because of mnemonics.

Oh, great, an Image groupie.

(serious talk, I'm including a Rob Liefeld drawn comic in my list)

(Yeah, not a joke, not an imaginary story)

(Don't judge me)

FINISHED! This one was really, REALLY hard. I imagine if I was asked to make the same list next month it could look radically different. I'm shocked at what I had at #8.

Just a heads-up that I'll be out of town from now through the weekend so I may be slow to answer any questions that come up, but I'll check in periodically. Since Musicals wrapped up in time, nominal list deadline is still the end of the 20th, though I may end up giving a short extension if I haven't had time to do more tallying.

Couple days left! C'mon, like you've got better things to do with a long weekend.

As an indication of how diverse the voting is for this list: it took 20 submissions before getting to the point where you can no longer get a brand new thing into the top 50 just by voting for it in your first place. Everything on the final list will now have multiple voters.

Have you decided which scoring system you'll be using yet? Just curious!

My list is done, but my internet is out. I will try to send it in as soon as I can. Maybe I'll type it into my phone.

Well I sent in a list. The problem is there's way too many super amazing comics and all of them are so good and I've read so few so I just shat together a list and super arbitrarily ordered it and fuck
