I can't remember the last time I was this riveted by any trailer, let alone a Zelda trailer.

My purpose in life is not to die before I can get my hands on this.

Me too. This. Exactly.

That being said, I'm feeling a little overwhelmed by the seemingly insane amount of item collection. They may have gotten a bit too much Skyrim into my Zelda...

on the other hand, you can beat up a skeleton and use its arm as a weapon, so.

It's going to really depend on how much is required and how much is just cool environmental interaction. More finding apples for health and less collect 15 bugs to upgrade a boomerang, I hope.

I really do like that actual food is required for recovering health, as opposed to just cutting some grass and hoping a heart pops out.

Well, then, whichever one I see first in stores.

Augh, this got split off into a new thread while I was reading the other Zelda thread, which left me really confused as to what was going on when I tried to navigate between pages for a moment.

Anyway.

This is definitely my "sure wish I had a Nintendo console" moment for this generation. There's always one. Although I suppose if the NX ends up also being the next-gen portable somehow I might be dragged in to the full system. We'll see.

Also the hang-glider in the trailer: yesss. People were saying this is how they imagined a 3D version of early Zeldas, and that in particular is exactly a thing I'd imagined for getting back from Death Mountain to earlier/lower levels of the game in, say, LttP.

I saw the climbing on architecture and rocks and sneaking in grass and thought oh Zelda's Creed. Interesting...
I saw Link fighting big dudes while wearing armor and using different weapons and thought oh Zelda Souls. Interesting...
I saw Link chopping wood and thought oh Zeldacraft. Interesting...
I saw the variety of locations and environments and big vistas and thought oh Zelda Scrolls. Interesting...

And the sum of the parts just looks good too.

This looks absolutely stunning.

I didn't catch any of the demo, did they show off anything that looked like a dungeon? Skyrim with zelda style well thought out dungeons might be too good to be true...

They showed off that there mini-dungeons everywhere called shrines, and mentioned that there are still huge full dungeons in the rest of the game.

I watched the trailer and said "No more!" to myself, because if I look at any more coverage the game is never going to survive the rising tide of hype in my brain.

At the end it looked like Link was using some key to open up a dungeon... or at least a macguffin?

Totally baseless speculation: dungeons are ungated a la Zelda 1, and the macguffin treasures can be used in any order to activate thr necessary story elements.

IGN hands-on impression.

Some interesting things here:

- The E3 demo represents about 1% of the final game.
- The world is 12 times the size of Twilight Princess.
- Creation of different kinds of foods and elixirs seems to be commonplace.
- Rupees exist but you have to sell items to acquire them.
- Link has been asleep for 100 years and has been awakened to fight something called "Calamity Ganon".
- The article mentions a Goddess statue inside the ruined Temple of Time.

In short, GIMME THIS. YOU GIMME ALL THIS.

It's part of the game's friggin' logo, so I expect that to be emphasized quite a bit.

Which is cool. Zelda 1 was placed in a post-apocalyptic doomed timeline once they finally got around to establishing the series cannon. Either remaking it or continuing past that point would be interesting.

You can't just throw something like this in as a bullet point! Oh, there's a bunch of land, there's food, there are rupees, you have to fight Calamity Ganon, and there's a statue. You know, the usual.

I haven't been able to watch anything except for the trailer, but I got a Wind Waker vibe from the enemies. I really like the music and the feel of the game based on what I've seen. I will probably get an NX for this, whatever it ends up being.

Climbing. It has climbing. Oh... if it's actually a mechanic that is useful all over the game, and not just prescribed areas...

Link asleep for a hundred years brings to mind Zelda 2. Now imagine if Zelda awoke him, as a role reversal. It won't happen, but Zelda as an everpresent partner in the game. [... ideal would be switching back and forth dynamically ingame, and she'd have different weapons/abilities... won't happen... won't happen...] [/crazy hope]

Looks great, hope it releases WITH the NX for those bad people like me that lack and don't plan to get a Wii U.

Skyward Sword Link was right handed, and the game wasn't flipped to achieve that ala Twilight Princess. Maybe he's intentionally a righty 'cuz the Link in stasis is him?

I'm most excited by the term "Calamity Ganon"

If only because it implies that Ganon is a wandering gunslinger in the old west this time.

...and also a woman, I guess.
