Default The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild (Spoiler-Free)

So the English subtitle of the new game is "Breath of the Wild".

The trailer did indeed features a variety of wildlife, and what looks like some resource gathering and crafting systems similar to Skyward Sword.

Showed Link in variety of outfits, including plate armor in a few shots. The trailer also featured a female voice encouraging Link to "wake up"; so it looks like it'll feature actual voice acting as rumored.

IT LOOKS SO SICKKKKKKKKK

Someone on Twitter described it as the game that played in their head when they played NES Zelda and that's 1000% accurate and I NEED IT

Not that it was ever a question, but day one purchase.

The Master Sword shot at the end really sealed the deal, insofar that the deal needed any sealing it all.

The ruins displayed early on, the general desolation of the landscape, the Master Sword rusting, implies to me the game takes place far into the future in terms of the Zelda continuity - such that it exists - and I'm super damn okay with all that.

The bush burning made me more excited than anything else.

Also the spear.

The only question for me is whether it ends up making sense to get an NX for this or just play it on Wii U.

The nx question is the biggest one for me, too, and one we likely won't get any answers to soon.

I think I'm leaning towards whichever one requires less of a wait.

As I feel eager.

They're playing it now. So many questions already.

Sheikah Stone = Hyrulean iPad, clearly.

Couple thoughts:

This Link is soooo cute! I love his ponytail. And it looks like shirts are optional.

Voice acting UGGGHHH. Hopefully it can be turned off.

JUMP BUTTON!?!

The rumour was that it would more open world but I'd be lying if I said I expected this. It's sorta incredible.

I never needed voice acting in Zelda, but I'm not opposed to it. Just 'cuz it sucked in Super Mario Sunshine doesn't mean it has to suck forever. Of course, my ideal Zelda voice acting would be Klonoa/Panzer Dragoon/Team ICO style gibberish, but whatever.

Game looks great.

That trailer gave me the shivers, which is all I rightly could have asked of it. Now it's months and months of increasingly frothing demand...

Anyone else weirded out by the complete lack of NPCs...? I like the idea of a more open, solitary-feeling Zelda game, but it felt a bit empty.

I adore the lack of NPCs. I'm sure they'll pop up eventually but I'm totally on board with minimizing the amount that appear. See the original Zelda for further info.

Demo had one NPC they showed and it was an Old Man, though he didn't give a vague hint.

Edit: Forgot there was a second NPC, a Korok

Am I mistaken or does it appear like bombs/arrows simply recharge now instead of having to be found? And the bombs can be remotely detonated?

the bombs appear to be based on the new tech and have a cooldown. Arrows are definitely pickups (and I'm guessing crafting?)
