Ugh, just got up over 50 mythril again and I'm SO TEMPTED to make another pull for Metamorphosis Claws. But if I don't get it, that will be something like ~500 mythril spent between this banner and the prior XIII banner that had it.

That stupid claw really is the one that got away at this point.

Let it go, BeeZee.

You and I, we can both hope that the anniversary banners have Quists/Raines BSBs, together.

I mean, is it too much to ask that we get BSB's for Fujin, Quistis, and Raines in the same pull?

Damn, I like Noctis's BSB even if it's not a DPS powerhouse: 10 instant single target attacks, self ATK+DEF+RES +30%.
Burst 1 - 2 single target attacks, next 2 turns have faster charge time
Burst 2 - self stoneskin and ether

Also I was mistaken, the two new characters are Gladiolus and Iris, not Ignis. Iris is a healer, Gladio is a knight/tank.

This event also has a new Celerity 5 skill that does 4-7 hits based on how many attacks (not hits) you've done to the enemy. So kind of like Firion's Chain Strike in his BSB.

Also I like Iris's healing BSB: party Cura medica, stoneskin, and ailment barrier.
Burst 1 - instant curaja
Burst 2 - weak medica

Burst mode is pretty cookie cutter, but the SB itself is a nice combo/split between Asylum, and Larsa's BSB.

Gladio's skills: Combat 5, Knight 5, Samurai 5. definitely a heavy melee, his relic gimmick is en-earth and earth damage stuff.
Iris's skills: White 5, Monk 3, Dancer 4. Strangely, she has access to fists and thrown (her BSB weapon is thrown!). But she's still primarily a healer, so her BSB weapon is a MND thrown and suddenly I lost all interest in this banner.

I do like her level 99 RM though, for utility purposes: medium chance when hit by Slow to replace it with Haste

This event's gonna be shorter and easier since it's FF15's first real event. When we got Noct over the winter holidays, he was in like a super easy 3-4 stage mini-event where you just got Noct, mc1, mc2, and mc3 from the stages in order, and then you were finished.

edit: I don't think I mentioned this, but they announced JP FFRK will add some "new" story realms for Crisis Core, 10-2, and 13-2. Probably not separate RS from their main realms, but they will be new areas for story dungeons.

Did they ever release the final dungeons for any of the realms in JP? Or are they still holding on to them for some reason.

Still haven't done it. They've had final bosses in 2 events: The FF1 Matoya/Master Monk event, and the FF2 Emperor event.

It's weird how they've made Chaos and Emperor easy-ish + battles instead of Ults. Really makes them feel anticlimactic.

Chaos at least came back as Ult++. And the final Emperor should also be Ult++, or maybe it's the Soul of Rebirth Emperor. You normally fight him twice in FF2 anyway - the first time, you kill him, but he's just so evil he comes back out of hell to try and take over/destroy the world anyway.

JP's FF11 event is live. New characters:
Aphmau - White 5, Summon 5, Monk 3
Like Iris, she can use fists... but her other weapons are conventional (rods, staffs)
FF11 finally has a dedicated healer.
Zeid - Black 3, Spellblade 3, Combat 5, Darkness 5
His weapon options are slightly limited, but true to his character/FF11 dark knights* - swords, axes

There's a new Darkness 5 ability that's basically Double Drain Strike, or a physical version of Dread Heal, if you prefer. Very nice stuff, along with the last physical Darkness skill we got that does 3-5 hits based on your doom timer.

*FF11 dark knights use scythes, but I think they'll just classify those as axes for FFRK purposes. For future events where they might give him new relics, I mean.

FF11 has a pretty strong cast, now that it has a healer. Still missing a support 5, but that's about it as far as core ability sets go.

Zeid!

More dark orbs, of course. But tbis looks like the physical darkness skill we've actually wanted (3.0×/2).

This one is pretty nice if you have en-dark or the Kuja level 99 RM.

But this new one, Dread Weapon, is going to be easier to hone for me at least. Power/earth/dark vs. black/non/dark.

I haven't had a chance to use the new Celerity 5 skill much, but holy shit it seems like it's a big damage gain over Quick Hit. Not really fair to compare it to Powerchain. It's the same Celerity cast speed, but 4 hits base (goes up to 7), so that probably makes it a lot stronger than Quick Hit. It's also much easier to hone, using power, thunder, and wind orbs.

Enelemental / BSB: Fujin, Quistis, Kain, Refia, Maria, Cloud 2, Golbez.
BSB: Fran, Faris, Noel, Tyro, Cid Ranes, Fujin, Fang, Zidane.
Medica: Whatever. Hamelin would be nice in general; Perseus / Artimas Bow or Healer's Circlet for Wrath fun times or any of the USBs.

Honestly, her SSB and BSB in JP are just single word kanji. So yeah, another case of them dropping the ball when it comes to understanding FF history. See: Crushdown, when it's Crashdown in at least 2 FF games I've played (4 and 14) and probably many more. Or Squall's default SB "Blade Flurry" when in JP it's Renzokuken. Even if Blade Flurry is an actual translation and Renzokuken isn't, they used Renzokuken in FF8 itself.

Fan translations had always had her SBs as entirely-uppercase single words before the banner was mined.

I wish DeNA had caught on, Ya-Know?

I actually want that SSB, even though I have her BSB. But if I'm going to pull on a FF6 banner it'll probably be the second one.

Meanwhile, I pulled on the medica Always Lucky and got Asylum! Woo! And a third Hamelin, but whatever.

Yeah, I have Relm's BSB and it's better than her SSB in any real situation. On paper you might be like "I need a big medica and major regen!" but in practice, just do the BSB instead. But I'm still cool with it because it's +10 MND and probably the last time we'll see it outside of lucky draws.

edit: 1/11 on that lucky draw I should have skipped. My 3rd Seraphim Mace. I don't even like using Porom!

Here's hoping everybody gets good stuff they want from tomorrow's lucky draw. en-element is good, though it's scary to think we could get crappy old SB relics like Lightning's Corps Field Uniform, or Cloud's Guise.

Is there a good resource for finding what imperil SB's exist? I've got Refia and Papalymo's bursts and I'm sort of interested in trying to build a fire team now, and I'm trying to research good imperil-fires to add to the mix.

I don't know for sure, probably one of the google docs on the game has a list. But I know these imperil fires exist in the JP game (I'll * the ones that are in global):

Balthier: SSB1*, BSB2
Locke: BSB*
Rubicante: SSB
Cid Garlond (FF14): either his BSB or SSB, I forget which

I feel like I'm missing 1 or 2 but maybe not. Imperil BSBs are awesome because they're self-sustaining, basically, and Balthier's BSB2 is good because burst 1 can stack extra imperil fires.

The thing I find best with imperil/element teams is to have 2 imperils if at all possible. It makes stacking much easier.
