I think your average "longsword" is about 10 pounds? It's less the weight than how that weight's distributed along the blade; if you're not trained in how to use one, yeah it's going to feel heavy and awkward.

Longswords weighed something like 2.5 to 3.5 pounds, and even the biggest practical two-handers didn't go over six. IIRC katana weighed around the same, though they're notably smaller? At any rate, swords have heft, but they weren't particularly unwieldy.

Yeah, now that I'm thinking about it, I pulled that number from D&D or Pathfinder? Odd mental leap there, but then I am running on three hours of sleep.

Must've been an older edition, then; the Pathfinder SRD says 4 pounds, and 5e says 3 pounds.

*shrug*

You should probably sleep, though!

Well there you have it. Thank you for your independent research Loki, but we now definitively know what a sword weighs.

How much practice do you really need with a watermelon, though?

What is appropriate attire for a groomsbear or groomstwink?

Just how much blood will you be expected to drink?

How long does a typical bride-on-bride swordfight last?

Who the hell eats fries in a cup with ketchup like that. That's a great way to get your hands messy and get a poor uneven distribution of ketchup for each individual fry!

Nascent? Pfft. Maybe 25 ago, but I've been doing this since I was a lad. This sociopathy is extant.

Real Americans appreciate an even ketchup distribution, but those liberal elites won't even call ketchup ketchup. SAD!
