It is also far more grating and exhausting than KOTH, for my taste. I actually do like Bob's Burgers a lot but I don't follow it because it's just so intense.

I'm intrigued by what you mean by "intense." I'm not trying to begrudge you your opinion, I've just never heard the show described that way before.

It's not really a criticism, but I find it's a very fast-paced show with barely room to breathe. The characters are often shrill and in general the dynamic is chaotic. I find it exhausting to watch! Very good, but exhausting!

This is a pretty good pilot. I would watch an Adventure Timeish show where the protagonist is actually interested in figuring out how things work.

I liked that a lot! I just hope it has more to it than just the mystery.

A mystery cartoon with a kingdom full of adorable corgis and a robot with a Pinky/Brain split personality? This show was made for me.

Yeah, Infinity Train as a series could be a lot of fun, though it might work best as an "Over the Garden Wall" style mini-series.

I don't disagree, but I feel like you don't develop a premise called "Infinity Train" without intending for it to run for quite some time.

Animation's awfully bland, but the dog jokes were good.

Also, is that another Lauren Faust-inspired character?

Animated pilots rarely look anything at all like the resulting show when they get picked up. Different animation tools, sometimes even radically different art styles.

It's still wild for me to go back and watch the original Adventure Time pitch. We watched it over and over again in college, such that the lines were engraved in our brains ("Give me back my diamonds!"), but the style is so different, and yet so similar, from what we ultimately got.

Saw some blurb about how the B&TB remake will have the first openly gay Disney character, and that reminded me of the five frames of Bambi where they try with all their might to butch up Flower.

It's LeFou, the doofy little fat guy that hangs around Gaston. To the best of my understanding, he dances with a guy in the background of a scene near the end for a couple of seconds and that's it.

Fucking Disney, man.

I know!

Why not make it Lumiere so we could have a cool gay character instead of a toadie.

Cogsworth's either really coded, or he's just that sort of asexual that butlers are portrayed as being. I think Lumiere's just libertine.

Probably for the best as live-action Lumiere is terrifying

I went to an animation college, and the being one of the kids who had seen the Adventure Time pilot was like being in a secret club. I saw so many great little shorts and old cartoons and unaired pilots in that course.

it would be nice to not have the gay character as someone that gets abused by their supposed best friend/unrequited love interest

Awesome! I remember being really blown away after seeing the original pitch for Powerpuff Whoopass Girls, and the pilot was called "Whoopass Stew," and consisted of the girls beating up the Gangrene Gang and little else.

Ren & Stimpy probably has a lot to answer for in that regard.

Jumped back into Season 5 of Adventure Time and I'd forgotten how much I'd missed these characters.

I've been watching the first season of Voltron: Legendary Defender. I thought my hatred for eighties cartoons would eclipse my ability to actually enjoy it, but no, I'm digging it.

As a girl who spends a lot of time disguised as a boy myself, I identify with Pidge a lot.

Just got to the episode of Voltron where they go to the Space Mall and Lance and Pidge buy a Famicom from an Earth memorabilia shop called "TERRあ." This show is great.

Yep. I didn't really get into the whole "in space" arc but I really enjoyed the finale.

Having Mordecai end up with some random batgirl we've never met before the ending montage was pretty surprising, but I liked it.

It's not exactly animation, but KC Green did illustrations for this short film.
