It's not bad, it's just not as good as you're used to. Kind of like how people in the beer thread have called both Red Hook and Stella Artois bad. It's not. It's not great either but it's not terrible. (I am that way about whiskey and gin though so what do I know?)

I didn't remember any conversation about Red Hook, so I searched and, man, one person said Red Hook makes bad beer 2.5 years ago. That is some good memory, mate.

Starbucks and Stella are still bad, tho.

(When the best you can say is "better than gas station coffee" and "better than American macrobrew"...)

All coffee tastes like ass.

From the $0.50 cup of swill at your truck stop to the $15 cup of PANAMA LA ESMERALDA GEISHA NORIA ENERO WASHED SLOW ROASTED COLD BREWED INVERTOR PRESSED (I wish I had made that up) from your hipster coffee shop

Just embrace the ass. Drink it down. Let it fill and warm you.

We used to have it. But then you foreigners took it away from us.

No wonder Trump won.

Red hook is not good. I tried it one time. Bland, despite being allegedly an IPA.

I don't think I've ever had stella tho

Oh lord. I had an Ultimate Latte at Dairy Queen, and there was nothing "ultimate" about it. Their blender must have been on the fritz, because there were ice chunks the size of meteors in that damn thing. It had the approximate consistency of sewage... I could almost swear I found toilet paper in the cup. Awful, awful, awwwwwful. Such a shame too, as their Moolatte beverage is actually pretty decent. I fear they may be replacing it with this ultimate crap.

I never understood people who drink coffee for the caffeine and not the taste. I always drink for the taste. Same reason I drink soft drinks on the occasions I do, in fact.

When people talk about needing a hit of caffeine to wake them up, I honestly have no idea what they're talking about. I could drink an entire pot of coffee and go right to sleep without an issue. Of course, like so many folks in Louisiana, there's almost always a pot of coffee on, regardless of the time of day or occasion. I imagine most people in Louisiana are walking around super over-caffeinated.

Speaking of coffee, Community is the best I've had. But I'm not impartial. Like many, many people in Louisiana, I'm a sucker for the local brands. There's a kind of culturally pride that our food is renowned, and it's renowned for good reason.

I'm not alone! Yay!

(I also have a weakness for chocolate-covered expresso beans, but only if it's good chocolate.)

Yeah, back in college when I was drinking like a dozen cups of Pepsi a day I was like that. Caffeine had barely any noticeable effect on me. But once I stopped drinking soda constantly (to drop the empty calories) I lost my entire tolerance to caffeine within a year. So much so that now it's useless and immediately makes me both jittery and tired if I have too much at once. So now ironically it stops me from drinking things I'd like to get for the taste, like Thai Iced Coffee and other such things that usually aren't available in a decaf version.

Coffee gives you the energy you need, so you can go out and face your day.

So never, ever drink it.

Spite and generalized misanthropy usually work for that.

I should just switch to de-caf and call it a day, probably, maybe, perhaps.

I think all coffee in Japan is pretty bad outside of expensive cafes.

The Switch cartridge flavoured latte is an acquired taste, but one I wouldn't change for the world.
