Nice! Looks like a fun little time. Some of the stuff there reminded me of Konami fare, too.

That looks rad as heck.

I wish there were ways to play a lot of the game so you talk about on your shows aside from paying a lot of money to collectors or just pirating it.

Dang, that looks cool.

I bet it's not actually that similar, but the boss at the 2:00 mark in the video reminds me of fighting Graham in Aria of Sorrow.

It's definitely going for Castlevania.

I like to think so. Straight up: I just can't bring myself to pay triple digits for a vintage game. I never have, and I don't know that I ever will.

The market has gotten so out of control on some of these games that it's just the way it is now. That's why I bought an Everdrive, and I'll be buying more of them for other systems.

I can see that, but yeah, it's not that similar. This guy is actually a lot easier once you get his pattern down.

Oh... and I guess I should post THE NEXT HALLOWEEN VIDEO!

Eager to see what next week brings. I don't have the whole archive memorized, but I feel like Resident Evil would be a good one.

It's the third Halloween video! SUPER GHOULS 'N GHOSTS!

And if you want to relive all of the previous Halloween videos going all the way back (like if you don't have the archive memorized ;-p), then you can go here.

Hey, it's a new thing! On a weird arcade brawler from 1990 and its port for the Genesis.

So Crude Buster isn't worth $80 on its own, but is that taking the rest of the collection into account?

Data East Arcade Classics is a good collection of their backcatalog. It's missing some notables like Karnov, Karate Champ, Cheklov and Night Slashers, but that's due to the licensing breakup that shattered Data East's properties to at least three different homes (G-Mode owns most of it, and that's who this collection is licensed from, but there's also Paon [who have Karnov and Cheklov, among others], and Cattle Call, who continue to develop Metal Max games). I wouldn't pay $80 for it, though. It's solid, but not amazing.

I already own it, actually (I just need the box and manual, if any), but I just thought that was a curious omission.

Whoaaaaaaa, the Wii is 10 years old! We're all dying slowly! But at least it still has some good exclusive games.

Also, David, no, even with the other games, Data East Arcade Collection isn't worth $80.

"Given that literally no one on Earth cares about the larger Contra meta-narrative..."

As the exception that proves the rule, I can assure you Contra ReBirth makes as much sense as it seems to (that is: none).

I need to find a way to play that game.

Guy was a trip in Project X Zone, too.

Joe,

do you know if the game (Die Hard Arcade) is available at all on the PS4?

It is not playable on the PS4 right now. I confirmed before I captured the footage.

The second of two holiday videos this year! It's the sequel to Die Hard Arcade, Dynamite Cop! on the SEGA Dreamcast!

Friends, we got a big one. So big, it's two videos! A collaboration between myself and Eric of Game vs. Game (not to be confused with Eric Stephen Allen of On the Stick).

Part one is on NBA Jam:

Part two is on NBA Jam TE:

The opacity of part of your logo almost makes it look like it says "Same Name Different Jam," and I can't like that enough.

I was just wondering when we'd see some OnTheStick in the 2017. I wasn't disappointed!

Tenchu!

The game looks like it's constructed out of milk cartons, but it has one of my favorite soundtracks of all time. Plus the voice acting is (kisses fingers as if an Italian chef).

I never knew Capcom released a stand-alone version of the PS1 Strider port, nor that it was the last official PS1 release in 2006 (less than a month before the release of the PS3—not PS2, PS3). Learn something new every day.

In case you don't know, the soundtrack of Tenchu is by the same guy who did the Rurouni Kenshin music. That's amazing too.

Great video! I have great memories of Tenchu - i can't argue it's a good game since it has been ages since i've last played it, but it was the game that captured my imagination when i was a kid.

I always wanted to be a ninja.

That voice acting sure is something, yeah.

Legit. That's part of why I did it, I remembered it being good. Turns out, hasn't aged well at all.

Oh, and I guess I should post the new SNDG here, too, huh?
