Not just alleys. My parents' house has become cat-famous for their hospitality and they often show up at the front door in groups of four or five for lunch or dinner.

It's particularly unnerving when they're not even hungry. they just gather like that in a circle. Plotting. Scheming. Watching.

Domesticated cats form colonies. They are actually very social creatures, just not in the ways people seem to realise.

They don't live in prides or packs, but colonies are proper communities and felines in them will even help care for their sick, or new mothers.

That's exactly what they want you to believe.

Some excellent insecurity projections going on here, when those poor kitties are simply just hungry and want to eat in peace. Turns out everyone is happier and survives if you just share! Kitties are the best. I've observed dogs being shitty and territorial over food far more often than cats.

There's a reason there's no thread for important human gifs.

It's not slander my good man. It's just how things go. Pack mentality = pecking orders = I eat before you stay away from my food. I've never had a cat growl or hiss at me over food, and I've never had a human growl and hiss at me over food but I've certainly had dogs do so if they think you're going to interrupt their meal. I also love puppers, it's ok to love all animals! Except birds, birds are loud and need to be free. Here have a potato-gif:

Everyone knows you have to defrost your freezer, but hardly anyone knows you have to de-mush it too.

I'm not taking that cat's shit anymore. I spent a good 15 seconds staring at it waiting for it to move before checking the file type. This is a GIF thread, you troll!

Uh, that cat looks like it IS taking a shit.

A shit that's been brewing for days, from the look of its face.

I get it that cat is too strong for you to handle. It's okay. We can't all FORTIFY the way brick kitty over here has.

I'm greatly amused by non-cat people's interpretations of the faces cats make. I'll share pictures of my cats purring and in bliss with friends, and they'll reply that the cat looks grumpy or upset. Often it's simply just projection, but it doesn't help that the natural shape of cats faces are often in ways we would associate in humans with specific emotions. When you spend a buttload of time around cats, it becomes easier to correctly identify their emotions from their faces because cats are secretly very emotive and expressive with their faces, they just don't correspond to what humans would do with their faces and the fluffy fur obfuscating small facial twitches doesn't help either. Your JPEG of a cat doesn't look fed up or angry, it actually looks a distressed and possibly scared.

aye, if you look at it harder the cat appears to have some kind of body harness attached to it and it's definitely unhappy about that fact. Like, is about to slice someone up unhappy.

Cats don't like being leashed, but what they like even less is the circumstances that would lead you to leash them to begin with. Namely, taking them out of their environment into somewhere public. An angry cat looking to lash out would be doing a few different things with its body and facial language. IMO that cat looks like it's scared, guarded, and evaluating whether or not it should flee.

Not exactly a gif, but too adorable to pass up:

pugs are the best puppers
