It's a shame that The Motion Picture hasn't gotten the de luxe vinyl treatment, since Goldsmith's score and the imagery are the main things it has going for it.

And just when I was thinking about dropping the Astral Plane campaign I was tinkering with.

Canadian based artist and sculptor Debra Bernier uses driftwood remnants to carve stunning sculptures of female and infant figures. In an interview to BoredPanda Bernier expresses the idea her art originated from, "When I work with driftwood, I never start with a blank canvas. Each piece of driftwood is already a sculpture, created by the caresses of the waves and wind. The wood tells a story and I try to think of its journey as I hold it in my hand. I extend or shorten the curves and contours that already exist into familiar shapes of animals or peoples’ faces."

(Ian McQue)

McQue's kind of hilariously monomaniacal in his personal portfolio. I was going to crack a joke about how he should pull a Chris Foss and improbably illustrate a sex manual, but apparently he's lead artist at Rockstar North, so he's doing fine.

Hah, that reminds me of the ships from Patchwork Heroes, but in much more detail & 3D. Very cool.

Google Arts & Culture added this guided view of an ultra-high-resolution digitization of the restored Ghent Altarpiece (1432) by Hubert and Jan van Eyck.

Those junkpunk ships are amazing and I want a movie, TV show, novel, game, ANYTHING that makes extensive use of that setting.

They remind me a bit of the junk mechas in Robot Carnival.

It looks like the ghost that you think is the villain, but it's actually only there to warn you about the other, worse ghost that's nearby.

Okay, so Coco-Cola is a mainstay brand for Blade Runner-esque gritty corporate future settings, and I guess Uniqlo kind of makes thematic sense at a stretch.... but LUSH is a new one.
