to be fair, there's a huge difference between the complexity of kof characters and tekken characters

It means you don't know what you're talking about because that series varies greatly from game to game.

Mokujin was in 3, Tag, 5, 6, and Tag 2. What the hell are you talking about?

Because the story of Tekken is one big, "FUCK YOU DAD!" so Jin unlearning the Mishima style was his, "FUCK YOU DAD!"...but if you want Old Jin, just play Devil Jin because he's that. It's nice when characters actually properly reflect the overarching plot.

He might be thinking of Tetsujin, who was only playable in Tag Tournament and, uh, Revolution I think?

Yeah, that's fair. T4 just left a bad taste in my mouth for several reasons and I think I project a lot of that salt onto Jin getting totally overhauled. I'll probably pick up TTT2 over the weekend in the hopes of kinda-sorta catching myself up on the last decade's worth of Tekken.

Also gotta say the home version of Tekken 3 still holds up incredibly well for being a PS1 game. Runs smooth as butter and sounds great, plus Tekken Force, Tekken Ball, and an excellent training mode. It was the first fighting game I played at any length, and it's easy to see how it blew up so big back then.

CHICKEN!

Back when it first came out, my friends and I rewatched all the endings of Tekken 3 so many goddamn times after unlocking them all. This was a time when FMV still carried a thrill by its sheer existence, so having a wide selection of (at the time) STUNNINGLY animated, and frequently wacky and entertaining, clips available with the press of a button was a revelation.

It was like a tiny early youtube.

Haha, yes! I love this observation! Tekken 3 totally sold itself on its amazing cutscenes.

You come for the CG, but you stay for the delicious chicken-fueled brawling!

I'm not going to lie, Young Octo watched the Gon ending for quite a while before realizing what was up.

The only difference between Tetsujin and Mokujin was the name and texture. Mokujin was still selectable, as the entire cast had alternate colors for Tag (and some characters had extra costumes, which is really what Tetsujin was. Unknown in Tag 1 was basically "Evil Jun as a Mokujin" and in the PS2 port, you could actually cycle through characters with her by pressing R3.)

I'm still shocked that Akuma is tekken canon now. Being tied to the main storyline of 7.

And yet it doesn't mean that Street Fighter X Tekken is Canon. (yet?)

Not that it matters, Akuma isn't going to kill anyone, because the more plot they give to him, the less effective of a character he becomes.

Akuma being so prominent in Tekken 7 just feels crass to me, like a tacit admission of Namco's desperation to pull in as many SF fans as possible with this one. Like, you already had your chance with SFxT (and the stuck-in-development-hell TxSF).

I play Tekken to play Tekken, not so I can be reminded about how popular SF is!

Then just take your frustration out on Akuma by getting good with ANY OTHER CHARACTER and beating his ass every chance you get.

No one could stop you from doing that. I mean, it's ridiculous, but do what you want...

I won't lie, using Akuma would kind of be my crutch getting back into the series. I've been gone since 4 or SFxT which doesn't count, but still!

I'm hurtin' BAD for a fight stick but I don't have a lot of cash for one. Has anyone spent time with this Mayflash stick? Should I get it or run the other way?

Tekken 3 report: I have unlocked all characters except Dr. Bosconovitch. Tekken Force is tougher than I remembered; there's so many dudes to punch. But I will persevere!

Finally grabbed Kilgore in Killer Instinct, but haven't had a chance to try him yet. Mixed feelings that they brought the price down to $5, since the $10 was supporting tournaments and such. =\

That's not even a 100% combo, though. That's like, 97% and then a *boop*.

Also...

So the Killer Instinct Twitter decided to have some fun...

One of our artists made a fun mock up of what Clippy would look like in KI. Keep in mind, this is just for a cheeky laugh, and not real.

We've had so much fun joking about Clippy today that we even took it a step further. Again, totally for fun, but here is Clippy's Dossier.

KI's got a good group of folks on it but it's definitely spinning its wheels at this point. I hope a full sequel gets announced this year.

Not that I have a means of playing it, but I'm a li'l disappointed we didn't actually receive Bottles the Mole in the Killer Instinct season packs. Poor li'l guy was knitting his own bandana just for KI3 back in Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts.

I was recently made aware of this game, an Italian PC release from the late 1990s. I guess it's supposed to be a parody of the genre, but most of the alleged jokes either don't translate well to English or try way too hard to be zany. It's borderline painful to watch.

I haven't played much since the earlier round of Season 3 guys came out, but this Shadow Lords thing seems pretty neat.

Perhaps! I found it pretty unengaging, but then again I'm not much for single player modes outside of your traditional arcade ladders in fighters.

Marvel vs Capcom infinite September 17 2017, Sigma Ultron confirmed, dlc sigma character. There's a collectors edition that retails 199.99 but has all the infinity stones and 4 linking diorama figures of ryu, megaman x, iron man and power girl. Also led imaginary stones. I'm not one for giant preorder editions but oh I'm so tempted. Also SF5 leaked the next character. It's Ed Balrogs little protege.
