Inside. ... just ... what the fuck?

I'm aware that things rarely end up well in these "terrible deaths to little boys" type of games, but I really did not expect to end up stuck as an Akira blob on a beach with absolutely no resolution or explanation.

This one was just weird for weird's sake, and frankly the puzzle platforming wasn't interesting enough to put it in the same category at Limbo or Braid or even Another Word*. I feel like I was supposed to feel something, but fuck if I know what it was. If the game has a thesis it is being too subtle about it.

*which I don't like but respect and have enjoyed LPs of

Regarding Limbo, the most interesting theory that I've heard is that the little boy had been acting in the interests of the flesh blob for some time. Either from the very beginning of the game, which was why he was being hunted, or else from the moment when he "drowns" and is saved by the selkie. I think the latter makes more sense, in that the selkie goes from trying to kill you to seemingly helping you. But it's also possible that the thing she hooks you up to isn't saving your life, but rather turning your corpse into a servant for the massive blob, which wants to escape the complex.

That ending really threw me for a loop, but I couldn't help but appreciate how singular and surprising it was.

I'm OK with that theory, Mike, but it still doesn't tell me ... why? I mean, i guess the blob escapes, but ... WTF with the rest of it? What is the meaning?

Been playing and enjoying XCOM 2, but it sure gets repetitive by the end. I'm no longer excited upon seeing Gatekeepers, Archons, and other high-level enemies. I hear Long War 2 spices things up, but ehh...I didn't care for Long War for the original XCOM: Enemy Within.

I've played Mega Man 3 a shameful number of times but I never noticed until now how bad the fucking slowdown is. Jesus Harold Christ. I appreciate the idea of MMLC but, really, an option for no slowdown would be peachy.

I've heard that people play Galaxy Fight in tournaments, with the timer set to two seconds. I can understand why, because two seconds is as much as I can take of this crap. It obviously shares code with Waku Waku 7, but that game is so refined that comparing the two would be like comparing Street Fighter II to the clumsy original.

Like I said when the release was announced, there's only two reasons people played Galaxy Fight, and both of them are attached to Roomi.

Well okay, those weren't the exact words I said, but Elfelicia there is the only reason people remember Galaxy Fight at all.

Yeah, I think people forget how bad the slowdown was in MM3. And I'd similarly love to see a no-flicker remake of MM2.

Worst part of Day of Infamy is hearing people who think "fag" and "retard" are acceptable words to use in voice chat, and player names like Fascist1488. They're not everywhere but they make an already demanding game even more exhausting.
