Yeah, don't get me wrong, I don't even mean there will be a lot of gore. The differences will probably be slighter with maybe an occasional "DID THAT JUST HAPPEN?" moment (which I've had with lots of Cartoon Network shows that AREN'T on Adult Swim).

It would give me a good excuse to watch it all the way through.

What's with Jack's weird helmet thing? Did he ever wear full armor in the original?

Then again, who knows, it may not even be the same Jack this time around.

Maybe it's Michael, son of Jack.

Many episodes involved him starting a fight wearing some sort of armour.

In almost every case, the more armour he was wearing, the more likely it was that he would end the fight in his undies.

I like Samurai Jack, but it does not have 50 good episodes.

Top 50 episodes of this 52-episode series.

I'm actually a little ambivalent about the show being brought back, especially more than a decade later and without one of its key players. As much as it feels like Jack was cancelled before its time, they still got four whole seasons out of it without ever getting closer to an actual resolution. I feel like that's enough episodes to have of something that episodic, and too many for something that was theoretically going to have a real conclusion.

Now, if you told me they were bringing back Sym-Bionic Titan, which had an actual arc that was clearly going somewhere and had already made loads of progress toward it, I'd be over the moon.

I still like to think that Jack Learns to Jump Good was the series finale, it was just aired out of sequence.

This was always my take as well. I think that is everyone that counts, right? That makes it canon.

Samurai Jack, like the mangas it draws upon most deeply, do not rely on sequence

Let us indulge in these new episodes, as regency wastrels did upon blue ruin and octaroon whores

The funniest thing possible would be if this new series ended on an unresolved cliffhanger

I only watched part of the series around the time it originally aired and have had the Seasons 1-3 DVDs on my desk for years without watching them (and saying to myself "I really should rewatch those"). I really should get to doing that.

I'm pretty sure this is the episode that has made me want to rewatch the series. I still remember bits of it to this day, even though I haven't watched it since it aired. It's one with no dialogue, right?

The episode with the robot war and broken robots spraying out oil like blood is still vivid in my mind.

It has a little dialogue, but not all that much, really.

These two statements describe about 80% of the series.

I liked the one where Jack goes to the freaky black-and-white spirit world and fights a ghost. And the one where the Totoro ripoff follows him around.

THOUGHTS.

I'm not sure if setting it 50 years after the orignal series and making jack unable to age was a good idea. The setting was always the MAGIC-FUTURE where literally anything could happen in any given episode. they could have just said that like, a decade and some change had passed and skipped the whole FOREVER 30-ISH aspect. That'd still get the whole "exhausted by the years of no progress" point across without needed to shoehorn in some pseudo-immortality.

I don't think I actually saw his sword at any point in the trailer! Jacks sword is like, Magic and shit! I think at one point we saw it was forged by thee literal gods. Important sword, is what I'm saying. Guess Jack lost it?

Is aku a lady now? I mean yeah nobody can ever replace Mako, and Aku's description is literally just "Formless Evil" so they don't even really have to justify it past "Aku can be whatever aku wants to be", but I'm gonna miss his over the top thunderous yelling.

But whatever IT'S A MONTH AWAY I'M EXCITED!
