Man, they're really drawing these teasers out, aren't they? I hope we get something besides the theme song soon.

To be fair, the themesong is enough to trigger ASMR.

Oooooh.

I mean, his voice sounds a good couple decades younger than I associate with Scrooge, but otherwise he's a good fit.

That'll take some getting used to, but it's neat that Scrooge's accent will be real.

EDIT: Oh man, Kate Micucci as Webby is perfect.

EDIT EDIT: Why doesn't Tony Anselmo get to sing

Well, never let it be said that Disney having all of the monies doesn't lead to some cool stuff.

My inner nerd reaction is 'Yes yes yes yes yes yes YES'

Though I honestly have a hard time picturing David Tennant doing ol' Scroogey, I can't wait to actually hear it.

This way, he'll be able to reprise the role for another five decades instead of just three.

I haven't been this excited about a tv show since....ooh, since Neil Gaiman admitted he was writing for Doctor Who, must have been.

(*when* in 2017? How long must we suffer before its sweet, sweet goodness arrives?)

I hope Ben Schwartz et al don't attempt much of a duck voice and mostly just talk normally. Dewey being a little Jean Ralphio would be hilarious.

Maybe I'm just excited for the inevitable Comedy Bang-Bang Ducktales extravaganza podcast.

Especially if he occasionally swerves into recitative.

Tennant's got range. I think he can work his burr into something a little craggier for present-day Scrooge, and of course he'll be great for any flashbacks to young Scrooge. I don't expect him to replicate Young's performance, but I think he'll do as fine a job bringing new life to this legacy character as he did with the Doctor.

Does this also mean the show will take place in the 40s?

I suspect that to be one of the tweaks, albeit with Scrooge having an improbably old backstory.

Maybe it'll be a running gag. Scrooge saying he was in the Yukon gold rush and Donald dubiously pointing out the chronological difficulties, only to be silenced by a GOOSE-EGG NUGGET exhibit in the Money Bin.

(I assume the Money Bin will be in this. Who wants a crummy old mansion when you can have a Money Bin?)

The Money Bin was in Ducktales, though

If you mean maybe Scrooge will live in the Money Bin instead of his mansion (which I would love), the voice actor video that Disney XD posted talks about McDuck Manor in the description, so presumably the mansion is back.

Always thought that was a nice mansion. In fact, I think it's pretty much the first idea that comes to my mind when someone talks about a mansion.

Also, Irma from TMNT/Milo Murphy's older sister is Webbie? Haven't heard her do a "very young" voice, so that should be interesting.

Also, animated Scrooge has been established as having a mansion in a couple of features.

I always saw the mansion as Scrooge's house and the moneybin as his office. I'm fine with either, but I prefer the moneybin if we can only have one.

He has a mansion in the comics as well, but I don't remember if it shows up in Barks's stories after Scrooge's first appearance, before the character had developed. Giving Scrooge a life of luxury conflicts with characterizing him as a miser who settles for nothing more than the bare minimum.

He'll almost certainly have a mansion in the new show, though. They look to be incorporating both the 80s cartoon and the comics, and that's fine.

Cool that they're including Donald this time. I know it's true to the comics, but at the same time, feels kinda weird.

I imagine they're not worried about him overshadowing the others now, which is kind of funny -- if I remember correctly, it was Scrooge that none of the kids recognized when they were testing DuckTales Remastered.
