Default Random Arting Thread

This is for the posting of random art pieces you've done. Theme? Absolutely anything! Hence the random. For we cannot dine on video games and cartoons alone.

I'll start this travesty:

A friend and I got talking about old school comedy, the sort that was on record albums. We got on Steve Martin and I wound up doing a caricature of the original Mr. Happy Feet.

It's not so obvious in this pic, but my biggest art style inspiration would be Bruce Timm, probably. I watched a lot of Batman 'toons and copied his artwork as a young'un, heh.

Can't really think of who else to list. Maybe from the various things I watched, I watched a lot of different cartoons when younger. Jeff Smith probably played a part in things too.

I like how bendy Mr. Martin looks. Also, I'm suddenly compelled to watch Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.

Just a reminder, but this isn't just my thread. Anybody can post anything they've done in here.

Unless everybody would prefer a whole bunch of different threads for different things? Then I'll change the topic.

I made these pictures when I was bored, and I've been waiting for an opportunity to show them off.

First, an artsy-fartsy type sketch:

Second, an attempt at a calming, soothing drawing:

Flattery will get you everywhere.

Also, Philliam: she looks like a Jolene to me.

Whenever a thread like this comes up I start scouring my photobucket account looking for stuff I haven't posted already. Today we come to the bottom of the pile.

Unfinished comics pages:

And who could forget emo-moogle?

I have better stuff, but it's been I while since I scanned anything in.

Me, playing with the brushes in Photoshop:

It looks a bit more washed out than I'd like it, but oh well.

Kaycee it is! High-five for Tomm. But I like the name Jolene so I'm going to steal it from Sheana for another character.

Why am I riding Philliam?

PS. Shivam's astral projection looks EXACTLY like CM does in real life. No joke.

Well, you're supposed to be behind Philliam, but I added you in late, so it doesn't look right. As for the astral projection, that's actually supposed to be a spectre of Parish himself (gasp!), but I couldn't draw him with the menace I wanted him to have, and it doesn't look like him at all, frankly, so I can see why you'd be confused.

Oh man, I had an art show this weekend (a group show) and I did really well. By the time I got to the opening reception I had already sold most of my pieces. I make collages, but they're dimensional like dioramas, you can't really see it in the photos unfortunately.

I had two big ones (24"x24"), a medium one, and a handful of tiny ones (2"x3", not pictured)

This one sold for 800 dollars! How awesome is that??

A close up. The people who bought it were getting as a wedding present for some friends. I titled it "March from the Gates of Hell," so I guess they've got a pretty good sense of humor. These are the only photos I have of it, though. Sucks.

So far my flattery has only gotten me other people's art in this thread. Where's more of the good stuff?*

*I'm kidding**, there's some cool stuff here, no one else read any further.

**Sheana, I'm totally not kidding***, more good art please.

***Feelings hurt? Your fault for reading.
