Yes! It brings such joy just to move. I'm excited for more knights, but I would immediately buy more Plague action.

I don't have it in me to want to fight Shovel Knight.

Those boss fights in the PK campaign were emotionally taxing enough.

Yeah, Propeller Knight's stage is some rank ass shit. But that music tho.

The game recently came out in Japan, and Yacht Club made a bunch of faux Famicom to NES localizations, just because.

This friggen' game, you guys.

I don't even know how anyone can harp on Propeller Knight's stage.

Like, the darkness in Specter Knight's stage was annoying and aggravating but it wasn't anywhere near as finnicky or challenging to get through. Propeller Knight's stage, esp. the last sections, was a big old double-fuck-you and it was miserable.

I found Prop pretty manageable with judicious use of relics and patience. Not that your experience was somehow wrong, or invalid.

Specter Knights dark areas are MUCH easier when you use the golden Armor/cloak. But, of course, you can only do that in NG+.

Prop didn't seem that bad to me; suitable amount of end-game platforming difficulty; hard but not insurmountable. P-Knight himself was a turd to fight, however.

Specter Knight's stage just requires patience. Propeller Knight's stage has those assholes that blow you around, usually right into pits.

Now, if those guys were in Specter Knight's stage? Hoo boy...

Specter Knight has the worst gimmick in the game, obstructing your view of what's going on. This is like fucking with your controls, it's a terrible thing that somehow keeps showing up in games because... reasons? Taking your time is well and good until unkillable ghosts are on top of you need to or jump to a moving platform or hit a shrub then bounce off it before it falls back down.

Interestingly the callback in Enchantress 1 doesn't do this at all, if anything the effect there calls better attention to the fake platforms with the way the rain is more visible. I love that section, really.

Propeller Knight's stage is just tricky. There's some trial and error with the wind cycles, but taking your time is actually reasonable here, as most areas have pretty clear safe spots you can hang out for two cycles and there's nothing but the wind and like two enemies (that you can actually kill) to put time pressure on you.

Specter is easier, for sure, and I've memorized it at this point so I can likely plow through without caring about the gimmick. And I'd need to stop in a few places in propeller knight's stage to observer and remember when I need to move. But that doesn't make it better.

EDIT: And I'm really only taking about the darkness / wind and spike gauntlets at the end of each stage. The rest of both are pretty inoffensive as far as I'm concerned.

Most of the sections in question in Specter Knight's stage have environmental details to let you know where solid ground is even when the lights are out.

Propeller Knight's stage is my favourite. The winds were tough, but I never found them unfair or tedious or anything.

Didn't mind the dark parts of Specter's stage either, but the ghosts do make them more annoying than they need to be for an early stage.

I think the game is extremely well balanced and basically has no bad sections, other than maybe the the crusher sections in the first castle stage being a bit long

That looks even more expansive to the base game than Plague of Shadows and that's kind of horrifying.

Y'know, in the same way a surprise birthday party as given by Drew Carey might be horrifying.

No, like, seriously, how can they afford to keep working in this game and creating so much new content for free? What's the revenue model? Are.... are they wizards?

Not that I'm complaining about this being free, but I might end up buying yet another version of Shovel Knight just to quell my conscience.

The game has sold more than a million copies, and their full-time staff consists of about five or six people.

That still doesn't sound like enough to be sustainable.

Granted they're also taking in revenue from Shovel Knight amiibos and cameos in other indie games, but still.
