People seem to like her a lot across the board, which puts me in a spot since my intention was to create someone who seemed like a recurring character and leave out the recurring part. I got ideas though.

So, who feels like some Zelda!?

Got a chunk of the next strip done. Just popping in to mention that my strip is officially (technically) popular enough that someone literally tossed something at me and went "Review this." So, Twilight Princess, then Blades of Time, apparently.

(I refuse to acknowledge the brackets.)

But yeah, I'm diggin' this!

I've been meaning to check this one out for a while, actually, but my shit-for-a-connection makes most image-heavy stuff a massive pain to deal with. This was definitely worth the load time, though. I really like what you're doing with the whole point/counterpoint setup, here.

Dixie's just FUN!
(That Gundam reference in the Armored Core thing was fucking priceless.)

Thanks! Since the switch to color I've been breaking strips up to try and make them less taxing to load, but on the 'backend' of things, basically what I'm doing is still drawing everything on a normal letter page, scanning, and splicing them all into one continuous sheet.

I have to say, that is a nice concession to us cavemen out here in the sticks.

You'll know you've made it when some Rule 34 pops up.

Although, you could make some yourself...

My style doesn't lend itself too well to nudes. Like, at all. I guess I could practice, get better, and overcome my weak points.

Or get pissy and say it's a 'style.' This is the internet after all.

All I know going in:
1) Sequel to X-Blades
2) Why is she British, now?
3) Stage revolving around avoiding the sun
4) Watched my friend throw herself off a cliff 45,000 times trying to trigger a special jump thingy

[+/-]#9- Zelda: Twilight Princess

...I really need to find a higher res copy of the second half of that. I have no idea what happened there.

Are timbits really that bad? I haven't had them since they changed from fryers to ovens.

In color, Eishi keeps reminding me of a slightly aged-up Sasami. This is probably because I'm old.

Honestly, half of the reason that strip exists is because a bunch of my friends are really into the place and I just think it's kind of 'eh.' Much like the Zelda series. So, I combined the two things I don't get!

I'm hearing the Sasami thing a lot from people old enough to remember it. I can see it, I was actually shooting for more of a faux-Vocaloid look but didn't want her to be too much of a Miku Hatsune doppleganger.

The GameCube version didn't get flipped to keep Link left-handed; it was like that from the beginning, and then the Wii version got flipped to attempt to make the motion controls more intuitive. Even the text on signposts is all backwards if you translate it from Hylian.

Oh, I know. Maybe I should re-word it in the strip, I was trying to imply that they thought that 'Link is left handed' was such an important thing they literally revolved the world around it, when the rest of the series is a series of near-total re-envisionings of the same basic idea. You know, like "Link's hat can talk" is okay, but Link holding a sword in his right hand is RIGHT OUT!

Yeah, I never got that about TP, either.

I also didn't care for the way some of the tools only had very specific applications for very specific situations (I'm looking at you, Spinner ).

The whole "you can't enter Area X without Item Y" thing was bad enough without making your "Item Y" a one-note wonder, like that.

Well! I seem to inadvertantly be flush with review material for a while. And I have a week off to spend some quality time with my site. Overdue redesign time... also possibly revive the Sharpie format for a couple quickies I've had in mind.

Been kind of kicking around doing a mailbag episode down the line, and possibly having some small-run print stories featuring the girls outside the studio. I'm liking these, and kind of making it into a Thing now in order to keep myself from starting a remake of Revolver Knight so soon after finishing the original version (that some people liked but I'm personally not too satisfied with.) Not too far along, so don't take out your wallets yet, but it's entitled Eishi And Dixie Are Friends, and it will be the feel-good hit of the summer, provided your media intake is very, very limited.

Okay. Gonna make myself stay offa here until I begin actual work on the site redesign and/or Blades of Time review. Ciao.

(Also, I did have a nice birthday. Got the Goldion Hammer add-on for my D-Style GaoGaiGar kit, Valkyria Chronicles II, MGS: Peace Walker, and basically all of my favorite foods over the course of the weekend. <3)

The worst part was the last stretch, the game kept glitching into unwinnable states every time one of those fucks with the recovery tanks on their back showed up.
