You should do that soon! We need some caramel on this choc+PB confection.

Maybe a bit off kilter for this thread, but the It Follows soundtrack by Disasterpeace is fucking incredible.

Kraftwerk and Depeche Mode are both being nominated for the rock and roll hall of fame. They both deserve it, but they're up against pretty stiff competition.

I go to this blog pretty often for my synth needs, which are great:

http://www.synthetix.fm/

They do a regular 5-6 hours podcast in which they play newly released synth tracks and interview the artists. Great to put on while working. Most recent one:

Meteor is good stuff. Also the album art is up BEAT's alley.

This video appears to be a couple years old, but it's a goodun - dude leads a bunch of people in a London Underground station in an impromptu Erasure singalong.

I just discovered yesterday that Neon Indian released an album that completely flew under my radar. This is why you don't go too crazy on side-projects, especially if those side-projects use the aesthetic you're going to make a hard turn into anyway.

What better music for the apparent collapse of liberal democracy under the weight of its own self-importance than Donald Fagen (the keyboardist for Steely Dan)

More Neil Cicierega uploaded today, this time under Lemon Demon instead of more Mouth Moods, but I still love it:

I wish every song had a part of it in something other than 3/4, 4/4, or 6/8. This does not disappoint, with the opening alternating between 4 and a chorus in 7 (my favorite!) and then layering the two (!?) as it spins off into madness with one of the strangest polyrhythms I've ever heard.

krelbel you might especially appreciate this. in the game it has no time signature or measure bars at all (the most sensible parsing though is that most of it is in 5/4 or something equivalent)

(i am drunk and forgot how to count. it's not that bad i swear)

We had a whole thread a few years ago about songs with unusual time signatures. I agree, it's really fascinating.

I've been listening to alphaville's "sounds like a melody" on repeat a lot lately.

Yes I know another song from that group was referenced in Napolean Dynamite (good movie, btw) but I had no idea they were High Romantic Melodic Synth Grandmasters and now I can't stahp

GostT remix of Bananarama - Cruel Summer.

That bass synth is so nastily crunchy.

I went and read through the YouTube comments on that Quarks video, and noticed that the vocalist for the song (!) had made a comment, which led me to his Bandcamp page, where he has put up a full album of Quarks stuff. Some if it is very different than Mechanical, but certainly worth a listen.

Any reccos for someone who's a fan of Dance With The Dead, Perturbator, and GosT?

Here's what's on my list to investigate: Carpenter Brut, Le Matos, and Magic Sword.
