Infinity bottles seem like a pretty fun idea for whisky, but I can't imagine that working well with gin unless you stick to a single gin type per bottle (e.g. here's my London dry bottle, my American dry bottle, my Old Tom bottle, etc.).

The Infinity Bottle is great for whiskey fans, but a disappointment for Jim Starlin fans.

Since moving out of Redneckistan, I am dismayed to discover that one of the best drinks ever (if one likes sweet drinks, that is), the Stockholm Royale, is apparently region-specific to Redneckistan. No bartenders in the Bay Area have heard of it, apparently. :|

Bartenders tend not to know much in the way of cocktails unless you specifically go to a cocktail bar. I've been to very nice bars where I ask for a negroni, which is a pretty universal cocktail, and get a blank stare in return.

Well I like sweet drinks so I googled it, and yeah, that sounds tasty. The page says it's from Fresno, so I assume it's yours. Vodka, Triple Sec, Sweet and Sour, Champagne, Chambord, sugared rim. I'd definitely drink that.

extra hilarious as every bar has a display bottle of Campari. Like what are they doing with it if not making Negronis?

Keeping up their decor, evidently.

I usually see Green and Yellow Chartreuse even at the shittiest bars here. I guess some people do shots of it (gross) but not at these places. I have to imagine the lids are fused on with sugar.

Okay, that is super weird. Even I have heard of that drink, and I am the rankest of n00bs.

Sorry, I should have described the darn thing in my post. Yep, that's the drink. It's absolutely amazing. I plan on buying all that stuff and trying to make it at home one of these days. (The only ingredient I currently possess is vodka.)

Just had that Zima. Usually, I can trust nostalgia, but I have to wonder what my 1990s-era self was thinking when he drank this. Frankly, some beers are better, and I don't even like beer!

Anyway. If you like lightly sweetened rubbing alcohol, grab yourself a six pack of Zima and guzzle 'em down. Then wish you hadn't.

I had a cocktail last night that was basically a Manhattan, except the vermouth was replaced with a combination of Lillet Blanc and a Malbec reduction. It was quite good — a slightly fruitier (but not really sweeter) take on the classic. 8/10, would sip again.

But the beauty of this infinity bottle would be that all liquor remnants would be welcome. This would cause them to mix an unlock their full potential as beverages. It's just science!

I have an acquaintance that has gluten intolerance, so I've nabbed a few of her Truly alcoholic flavored water beverages and found them to be fairly refreshing. I think the fact that they are not cloyingly sweet really helps with that.

Also speaking of 'hard' soft drinks, I refer to 'Not Your Daddy's Root Beer' and their ilk as 'Rowdy Rooties' and my girlfriend really hates it. She's right to do so, but I think it is a good name!

I always wondered with the hard seltzers if the alcohol would overpower the milder flavors. By your post, I assume not?

My wife likes the Not Your Mom's Apple Pie one, as it's basically a sweeter cider. She didn't care for the Strawberry Rhubarb Pie one, though. Too tart and artificial.

Yeah, I noticed some hard seltzers at Wal-Mart earlier today. I wasn't sure what to think about that, but after having Zima for the first time in ten years (and being crushingly disappointed) I doubt an alcoholic seltzer could possibly be any worse.

Not Your Father's Root Beer is definitely the way to go if you're going to drink a hard root beer. Avoid its InBev counterpart, Best Damn Root Beer, like a Pauly Shore movie marathon.

(Rowdy Rooties, huh? Maybe your girlfriend would be more comfortable with, uh, Soused-parillas.)

I don't really like either since I feel like they aren't very good as root beers. I guess if I was out and couldn't mix something up and felt kiiinda like a root beer, but I had one at a hockey game and wasn't digging it too much.

I can put rum in my own root beer at home, thank-you-very-much. Well, not today since I'm out of rum.
