How we spent free time in the Computer Lab:
- Number Blaster and Math Munchers
- Mavis Beacon teaches SkiFree
- Where in the World is Oregon Trail?

Sometimes the cool teacher would show you how to code your own programs in T-basic.

If you knew other people with games, you could copy them onto soggy discs instead of buying them yourself.

Downloading NES and SNES RAMs off a clunky ass Y2k modem. And that incredible noise when they connected to the internet!

Trying too hard.

Not trying at all.

Trying just the right amount.

The first video game I ever saw was Primal Rage, the Mortal Kombat clone with the dinosaurs.

The second video game I ever saw was Super Mario World. Another kid in the daycare place was playing the early stage that starts with the line of Koopas. I walked over and pointed at one of the Koopas and said "Okay I'll play as that one." I was frustrated when he wouldn't let me.

Those X-Men comics that were the same story every week, redrawn by the hottest artists. They had a number in the cover that people assumed was the issue number, but true collectionists knew it was the number of pouches in every costume. Ah! And to get the full story you needed all three variant covers plus the chromed one.

Marvel was doing so well in the market DC killed Superman because what was the point anymore?
