The equivalent of the "Do no open. Ever." envelope in Don't Fuck the Gargoyle! Legacy is just an envelope that says "Open if someone fucks the gargoyle."

I mean that'd be the very first envelope opened I feel. Someone always wants to fuck the gargoyle.

I was torn between that one and the fantastic Mormon worker placement game: Bringing in the Sheaves: Settling the Deseret Canaan

"Do you want to play Don't Fuck the Gargoyle! tonight?"

"Nah man, Falsie's coming over tonight, and that dude is so bad at that game. Guy just always wants to fuck the gargoyle. It's like he can't even read."

Just note that you're voting for the Legacy version with your vote. Besides, it's not as if I'd be able to discuss the Legacy versions much in the results post without it being one giant spoiler, so wrapping in the base games will give me something to talk about.
my opinion: "[x] legacy" is a very different game, and the example of this i put on my list was under the assumption that they wouldn't really be counted the same since i've never played the legacy version (though i guess i don't care too much since it's one i basically put on for nostalgia reasons)

on the other hand, there's like...a genre of "modular" card games with a bunch of different theme versions under the same brand, which i definitely interpret as all the same game. you know, like "dr. who lunch-splosion!!!!"

Just a quick little heads up for people submitting lists: did you know that you can use forum tags to number your lists for you? Most (all? I can't be arsed to check) of you are manually numbering your lists, and that sounds like a big pain, especially if you change your mind and want to start moving stuff around. If you just make a big list of stuff, each on its own line, and then highlight it and press the "1-- 2-- 3--" button on the text editor (the one just below the "Sizes" drop-down), it'll do all of the work for you! And if you decide to reorder your list, you can just move 'em around without changing any numbers. Try it!
  1. It's
  2. easy
  3. as
  4. pie

Whoa! Thanks, JBear! I never knew what those buttons were for. I do all my lists the same way: pen on paper, then I type it up when I'm ready to submit. But this will save me the trouble of numbering them, at least.

Funny story: I didn't submit a list for the Top 50 Villains because I misplaced my paper, which I'd been carrying in my satchel so I could add to it while I was out and about. I'd love to know what the finder thought about a seemingly random list of names that included Keyser Soze and Gaston.

I think i'm ready to submit my list.
Unlike many others, I'm finding myself cutting, adding and renumbering a lot more than I have in previous lists... I think I'm set now though.

Oh wait, i forgot one... hang on.

That is funny to think about. I feel like it should be clear from context of the list what it is... As long as they don't think you're listing your heros or role models or something...

Just made my list in like an hour, but since I trawled through all of Shut Up & Sit Down's games tab, I think I remember most of the board games I have played extensively the past few years, and tossing on a few other "tabletop games" that deserve to be on the list, I don't think I'll regret my hastily made list.

...of course there will probably be one that got away, but I'm fairly satisfied.

Thanks for all of the submissions so far, guys! Each new lists seems to contain at least one new, pleasant surprise, and I'm having a lot of fun seeing your nominations. Keep 'em coming!

Also, note that the bonus game race is heating up, but no one has gotten them all yet, so it's still anyone's game. (Oh, and also, since someone asked the question via PM: you are allowed to revise/resubmit your list of guesses right up until the nomination deadline.)

I'm still planning to send in a list, but right now I'm spending too much time every morning working on my own hosted list to get back to it. Almost there now!

Hello there, folks! We've had plenty of great submissions so far, but there's still plenty of room for more, so just a quick note to remind everyone that you have one week left to PM me your entries. I look forward to reading them!

I'm honestly a little surprised Food Truck Rumble doesn't already have a BGG entry.

I want you to know that writing this list was like choosing my favorite child, except that I know which one is my favorite child.

Well. This is pretty certainly the most arbitrary damn list I've ever put together for one of these, but it's a list, dammit.

Yeah, I realized as I did my list that my experience with board games is too drastically limited. So I'm looking forward to the final list so I can begin to expand my horizons.

Submitted my list. Raw list had 35 entries. Cutting the extra ten wasn't too tough, and I knew the general buckets I was putting games in, but the specific ordering was tough. In general I considered three factors: how much fun I've had with the game, how much I respect the design/significance and how much I'd want to play if somebody asked me to play right now. Overall, I'm pretty happy with how it turned out.

I made one choice that will probably be controversial, but I couldn't lie to myself and leave it off.

Still working on my list. I realized I haven't played many games since high school. Probably 'cause I don't have friends to play with anymore. :-/

The tabletop gamer's lament. Most adult tabletop game purchases are aspirational. :-/ Lord knows my gaming shelf is full of games that I've played rarely/never.

It's a game from Milton Bradley. I'll allow it. (Also the theme song is catchy af)
