I didn't know how badly YouTube needed a gaming-centric variety show until today. Loved everything about this (I mean I could nitpick like title cards and crap but you're already on top of those things so!).

I'm fully onboard with the "90% of YT Gaming videos are garbage" line of thought, and I say this as someone who genuinely enjoys critic shows for movies, music etc. (though I generally lean more academic and critically focused than humor, but gaming has a severe lack of those too). I really hope this show blows up, both for Madhair's sake and the internets.

It won't blow up.

I'm a little bit torn on the title cards; I mean, I will improve/finalise them, but I am now quite keen on keeping my dumb doodles.

Dumb doodles are great especially with the Master System grid, Font is almost impossible to read which is my only real issue.

I'll look into a better one, thanks. I wanted it to look like the SMS games, but it doesn't really pop or look good moving.

One of my online friends told me he enjoys it enormously but then compared it to Zero Punctuation, so I told him to fuck himself to death.

This is like when that guy said that one of my comics had a "Ricky Gervais" voice, that was a kick in the teeth.

My friend said I reminded him of a youtube gaming host and I said "oh neat" and then I looked the show up and watched and then later I pushed my friend into traffic.

Sterling is far better than he used to be, even if his appraoch to reviews takes the "consumer protection" angle a little bit farther than I'd like it to be.

I had the same thought but then I saw the example (?) madhair posted and thought it was intentional.

Yeah for some reason I find the Master System covers to be (slightly) more readable and I have no idea why that is? Maybe video resolution or something? Who knows. I love the MS theme and don't want it to be ditched but sometimes consistency gets in the way of good design. Who knows, it's his show and I'll roll with whatever he ends up going with.

The Master System box art used a slightly greyish tone for the grid rather than a full-on black.

Anyways, hey, when can we expect the next one?

Incidentally, while I agree about the entitled consumer slant in the Jimquisition, I think Sterling himself is a nice example of someone who saw what he was becoming and made definite steps to change that. I'd call him a force for good, if you care about the things he's applying that force to. I don't, because, mate.

I'm glad that Jim Sterling decided to focus on being good, thoughtful person and that he was able to build and keep a loyal fanbase doing so. Compared to other YouTubers serving the same demographic who shall not be named, he's great.

On the other hand, I find his videos to be dreafully boring and absolutely do not get the pseudo-fascist aesthetic.

Awesome. I'm looking forward to seeing which of these segments will turn out to be recurring bits -- I imagine the one where you're terrible at videogames is one of those wells that never runs dry -- and what new segments you'll introduce.

I can exclusively reveal that the opening segment of Episode 2 will be "Things I fucked up in Episode 1". So far I can think of three.

Calling it now:

1. telling Talking Time about it
2. censoring the fleshlight image
3. not screaming constantly/no fart noises

The "stoodles" are a great way to get the face time that's apparently necessary for success without actually filming yourself speaking into a camera. Keep those.
