I gotta get me a set of opal dice, right after the mammoth ones, heh. Jade and ruby, too, once I'm filthy rich off of shifter bears. Amethyst would be my second pick, but the lovely and magnificent Droewyn already got me a sweet set of quartz dice for Festivus. I like them so much, I hardly use them, haha. (I thought I'd die when I lost the d8 of the set. Found it later, but they are all stored safely in a drawer now, lest it happen for real.)
As I recall, I'd actually ordered jade dice but quartz was what they sent and by then it was too late to send them back and exchange in time for Festivus.

I adore quartz. Like, fucking love it. Amethyst used to be my favorite gemstone and, while it isn't anymore, it's still really up there. But I love quartz of any kind, because it's amazing~. It's one of the most chemically stable minerals out there, and at room temperature, it's considered inert. Like, I got a ladyboner just typing that.

♥♥♥ Quartz ♥♥♥

(I love jade too! Just wanted to emphasis that quartz ain't no shitty consolation prize. ♥)

I love jade. I actually collect little jade figurines so a set of jade dice would be a cute addition to go with my little Chinese dragon (that I actually bought in China!).

I don't know anything about dice, but I love shiny rocks. Do we have a minerals thread? I'm partial to fluorite and nephrite jade.

I'm glad. I would post a picture of the fist-sized quartz point with an embedded ribbon of dirt and moss (!) my aunt found while digging her well in California, but it's packed already.

Remind me after I've moved!

Man, you find huge chunks of quartz just hanging out around here. I find bits wandering around the woods, especially near streams where stuff gets washed out. And over where there was recent construction for a new riverwalk, there's some boulder-size rocks that sure look to be mostly quartz.
