They are adding a sale section at least, and the news channel regularly promotes categories like RPGs, though that really should be in the eShop proper.

They've made several small improvements lately. Seems like it's gonna be slow and steady on Nintendo's part for the foreseeable future

I think of the news channel as basically being an extension of the eShop, right down to the link to game pages on some promotions, so while I see your point not sure if I agree?

I like the News as a separate thing.

Also, half a year in the eShop is a mess and needs curation beyond "here's a list of all the games."

Every time I go into the eshop it blows my mind that you need to manually search the word "demo" to find any.

A couple of weeks ago, I wanted to buy more than one game.

The eShop doesn't even have a shopping cart!

It at least has a wishlist, something PSN still doesn't have for some reason

I didn't get much mileage out of it on Wii U or 3DS, but man, I really wish Sony would add a wishlist to PSN. It'd make it a helluva lot easier to keep track of all those indies I still wanna play eventually. There's lots of cool stuff!

They did, but only when you go through a computer I think. When you're on the main page click the heart in the upper right near your name.

Yeah, a shopping cart function is so needed on the eShop.

It may not be as kid-friendly as it first looks; there is a small bit of casual swearing I've seen so far, not to mention the occasional philosophical NPC musing on the threat of violence that underpins even the most nobly-used power and so on. One of the three enemy designs I've seen so far was legit unsettling.

It is adorable as heck, though.

Yono finished update:

It was philosophically adorable all the way through. QA obviously was suffering near the end, but it hadn't been great beforehand so I didn't notice too much.

The second boss out of three is a giant robot puppy that you defeat by playing catch with it until it destroys the obstacle blocking your progress in its excitement.

The finale involves your baby elephangel convincing the racist, paranoid queen to abdicate, then being allowed out to play by an adult elephangel. Seriously, it stays adorable all the way through and is short and sweet, maybe about four hours?
