Popping in to say - still reading, still loving.

So... Can I say I love this comic even though I'm an evil atheist?

So!

I apologize for letting the thread lie fallow. The comic's still been updating, of course, but I needed a bit of time to ponder what to do with it. Biblenauts isn't growing at all, audience-wise. My fault, as I haven't quite figured out how to promote it, or where. I need to be more active on social media, build my public voice, find an audience. As it is right now, though, pretty much every ounce of my energy goes into researching, writing, and drawing the comic, which is fun and fulfilling all on its own, but also has me in a bit of a rut. Leviticus in particular has been a six month timesink which resulted in only 30 pages worth of gags.

The comic's not going away! Don't worry! I like it too much to stop, and Moses's nose is very fun to ink. Also I'm fairly proud of the thirty pages I got out of freaking Leviticus, so I'm going to draw them, darnit. But I am scaling back, unfortunately. Starting this week, Biblenauts will update twice weekly, on Mondays and Wednesdays. This change will hopefully give me breathing room to figure out how to tumblr, and how to twitter, how to whatever the new thing is, as well as free up a bit of creative space to experiment with other projects and see if anything else catches on.

Hopefully, this change will be temporary, and my Patreon will explode and I'll become a dozenaire. In the meantime, I need to figure out this Internet thing. Thank you all so much for your support.

So far only one dude has said "I'm really good at marketing - I'll do a webcomic!" Good luck out there!

Yeah hire someone

I will work for free because I can't work for money right now and I love learning and I would learn from it

Lots of stufdents who do promotion are willing to work pro bono because they need the experience and they can't make a comic

I've learned that the best way to learn to do something myself is to hire someone who's much better at it than me and see what they do and then emulated

you really want to learn from experience directly

I was reading an old Fred and which I suggested to someone on these boards that they promote on Reddit and someone else posted a trolley video of never go on read it never go on read it and I remember thinking at the time that it was a mistake for that person to be listen to because I was giving good advice

Since then Reddit has largely died due to a combination of politics and administrative decisions about the algorithms involved in Reddit but even though it's no longer a hub for cultural creativity it's still a cultural Hub and it could be one of the quick Outlets you use for promotion weekly/biweekly, but again and I can't stress this enough don't try to do something without knowing what you doing because you're going to make mistakes that you don't even realize you're making and get no results and become very frustrated
