So psyched. So so psyched. There will be many a rockabilly dress made in fashionable nerd prints at Casa Hitsu.

I'm curious about that woodblock-looking one in the middle, it's the only one I can't immediately place.

It's a Zelda comic print.

[e] Stopped being lazy, found the product page. Also, it went on sale from the last time I looked at it!

It's the opening to The Wind Waker.

Oh, nice. As I don't have a lot of personal nostalgia for Ocarina, it's always nice to see other Zelda designs make it in to collections like this.

Edit: checked these out on the web site, and out of all of them the Zelda WW Comic one is already listed as "No longer available"??

Some signs and stuff I did! Not sure if art or craft...

4' x 8' octopus game board, shown with the original sad, puny pink octopus. I'd like to work on it more, maybe add some dappling to the octopus and detailing to the rope.

Farmers' market signs, 2 signs, double sided, about 30" x 40".

Mural I did in 200....8? The toy store it's in went out of business so I went to say goodbye.

Those are amazing, Kate. Do you have an online tutorial? I'd love to try making one.

EDIT: Also, did you marble your own paper? I like the colors.

I actually just redid an old tutorial, for a class that's being taught at Anime North later in the month. It's hell of rough, and uses precut pages and stuff, but you can totally figure it out (password is "dollnorth"). I do have an extra set of the pages for The Little Mermaid if you wanted em, or the printing files.

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3

I don't marble anything myself, I get most of my scraps from my friend Paul. He saves me tiny bits of fancy paper and leather and I'll go over to his studio like once a year to talk about making books for three hours.

I was invited to teach the class in person but I couldn't make it this year, so we've been doing it remotely. I am going to go next year!

Sadly, I only got to do a few pieces when the hs art teacher had the tub set up; but I definitely made the most of it

I wanted to do something similar as the one above, but I guess I ran out of confidence on executing it.

(I didn't marble this one, but I found it in the art room and used it with felt to make a mixed media thing
)

There was one other pink and grey page I did that I never used for anything because it was too pretty and I couldn't think of anything worth using it for, but I don't think I ever took a picture of it.

I just wanted to add that this gentleman's facial hair, as well as these books, are both infinitely more amazing in person.

I do! They go for $25 printed/$20 blank. I don't have any totally done at the moment but can make anything.

I might need to get my arts 'n crafts on to finish an arcade joystick I've been planning. Does anyone know anything about printable vinyl? I've been thinking about using that for the top of my stick, but how does it look? Will it work well with an ordinary inkjet printer? Is it durable? I'm going to be setting my palms on the top of this thing for an hour or more at a time, and I don't want my sweat to ruin the artwork on the top. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.

It is very durable, but not from an inkjet printer. A sign company should be able to print a file you bring in on adhesive, all-weather vinyl. I'd call around for a quote.

Arrgh. I was hoping to do this as close to home base as possible. You're right, though... if I want it done right, I guess I'd better let a professional handle it. Thanks for the warning.

Can this be done via mail order? My transportation is, heh, limited at the moment.

You should be able to find a place that will let you email the file and pay with a CC, and mail the finished prints back to you. Put a few images on one sheet if you can, in case you fudge the application :P
