Default Teg Draws Things

So some of you may already know that I run Let's Draw Video Games Dot Tumblr Dot Com, where I post a new Pokémon sketch every single night.

But did you know that I also post larger projects on Patreon Dot Com Slash Tegan Robichaud? For a small monthly donation, you get access to semi-regular drawings of much greater complexity than the nightly sketches. I'm still working out a schedule for it. Donating really helps me a great deal, and the more donations I get, the less time I have to spend worrying about other things.

Lately I keep drawing MGS stuff, so here's a tiny preview of one of those...

...and of course, I'm still drawing Pokémon. This is a close-up of a single panel from a comic.

Also, here's a Pikmin.

You should donate!

Been following your pokemon thing for a while now. Great work as always!

Your Gardevoir line and Mawile are easily my favorites. That mawile seriously has some boss-level shading going on!

Yeah, the tumblr is aces! Sadly I don't really have the cash-flow for subscriptions right now (says the person who just ordered a PS4.. but I've been setting aside for that and it was on sale), but this is all great stuff. Love the look of the robot hand in that MGS preview too!

Agreed, that soft midmorning lighting is on point. What markers did you use for that one?

I actually do have that up for sale on Society6, but I'd sooner find a different way to sell prints at this point. I make literally nothing off most of my Society6 work.

Copic Sketch markers on cardstock. It's been a while, but I thiiiink I mostly used YG13, YG17, G99, YG91, E44, and W3. R08 for the Pikmin itself and 0 for the dandelions.

If anyone knows of a good place to sell prints that will pay me more than Society6's "pittance every six months" then I'd be glad to.

I wish I had a suggestion, but my experience with printing and shipping is limited to Staples.

Find a good local printer, or an online service* that can make good prints for you, and then sell them yourself online. It is a bit more work on your end, because you'll have to get the right kind of packing material and mail them yourself, but I highly doubt there's any kind of automated service that will give you a decent cut.

If you really want to go with an automated service, there's also Design by Humans. They have fixed prices and markup on their items, which you can see here. I don't know how that compares to Society 6, and I don't know how they feel about copyrighted characters, though.

*My go-to company closed shop a while ago, but I've had my eyes on these guys for a while.

A local printer is handy in case you also just need a print or two - I make a lot of prints for local artists in my shop, and I keep their files on hand so they can just call/email in an order. We carry packing material too, and some print shops have mailing services as well.

Oooh, photo prints are nice and those are similar prices to what I charge.

This is just a testament to how much better practice (and a Pokemon challenge) can make you. That Cofrigagus is fantastic, teg, keep going and congratulations on your success so far.

I picked a bad time to suddenly start caring, 'cause I had to try my darnedest on a Pokémon that frankly isn't particularly interesting.
