I don't remember this season at all. Always partially comes down to mood when you binge watch a thing, but it's fair to say this show is not my favorite.

They took my note; flattered. I feel kinda bad for David Cross.

I've got a few episodes left to watch (12 & 13 and the end of 1/start of 2) but I've enjoyed it. Jacqueline's stuff was a bad idea from conception, but otherwise it is working for me. It does have the terrible misfortune of coming out on the heels of Master of None. That show used it's Netflix freedom to really experiment with the form of a half hour comedy. Kimmy Schmidt still feels like 30 Rock episodes that are 5 minutes to long.

Season 3's stuff about college kids is that same old tired joke again for some reason but still definitely much better than the awful season 2 episode about Titus's geisha story, which was frankly insufferable.

I just came in here because I realized, Kimmy meets up with a philosophy student and they talk about things and not once does the allegory of the cave come up. Which is astounding to me, like having a
goofy movie about restarting the sun where the heroes' witty catchphrase right before they save the day is something other than "It's daylight saving time".

Like, literally the first thing he asks her after they bring up philosophy is "how do you even know you're here right now."

not un-subtle enough for the show's tone imo. I want reference to being literally chained up in a cave and not believing that there's anything else that exists beyond the shadows of the cave

Someone elsewhere managed to articulate why the SJW stuff is so cringy: It's the Big Bang Theory, but with Social Justice instead of Nerd Stuff. Instead of the jokes being built around a narrative it's just, hey, this character said "trigger warning" and that one said "check your privilege" aren't those terms hilarious in and of themselves???

That Teddy Ruxpin fucking broke me. Could barely breathe for a whole minute.

I still like this show a whole lot. Those jokes in particular may be lazy, but there's still a whole lot of great humour to be found.

I found the season ended pretty strong. I'm so glad this season realized the full comic potential of teaming up Titus and Jacqueline. The fact that next season promises an arc in which they will be working together a lot
makes me VERY happy. Flouncy Magee might be my new favourite made up name for a character in a farce situation.

I just finished the season, too. As always, the show works as a relentless barrage of one-liners that I instantly forget the moment each episode ends.

I can't say I'm looking forward to a full season of autism jokes, though.

Yeah.... that seemed like a thing these writers aren't going to handle well. Hopefully, they'll back off on that a bit next season. I hope.
