the fried whole chicken is obviously the platonic form, but the 3 options after the first one are all valid enough to qualify

I voted for 'fingers' and 'patties' as those are the closest in your list, but I think the key to "fried chicken" is the presence of the chicken's skin.

Fried chicken is anything that an AI can't differentiate from a labradoodle.

I voted for tenders because it's the closest and sometimes has skin, but yeah, none of the above.

I voted buffalo wings, because even though I wouldn't consider a standard, TGI Fridays style buffalo wing to be fried chicken, you can totally bread and fry a bone-in chicken wing, then douse it in buffalo sauce for a flavor explosion. Otherwise, what everyone else said.

Wings are wings, not fried chicken. Fried chicken is southern, wings are northern. Get it right or pay the price.

I am proposing a glorious fusion in which an entire chicken wing (wingette, drumette, and tip) is breaded and deep fried, then slathered in buffalo sauce. I would eat the shit out of that. The standard buffalo wing is not fried chicken.

Never been to Hooters. I have led us down a pointless tangent. There's a whole wing thread anyway. Let's get back to how none of the things in the poll are fried chicken.

Hey, c'mon. Make your own pit thread if you're going to do that.

There is a method to my madness. A secret recipe of herbs and spices. (But it doesn't make for good chicken.)

Inferior to Swiss Chalet's famous Quarter Chicken Dinner, that's what. Look!

Oh yeah. It doesn't get much better than that. And look! Now two can dine for just $14.99!

Sorry Büge but non-fried chicken (even with a side of something fried) is just right out for this thread.

I voted for everything except the last answer, but the answer is "a miserable little pile of greasy bones."
