I played all the Wii games and bought a couple of the DVDs for my dad, who actually liked the humor. Just hearing about HR reminds me of the days I was a less crazy man.

Pretty much everything in this email has made it into my everyday vernacular.

"Duckshirt" is my go-to term for referring to new, unfamiliar characters.

The Telltale games fell down with the humor a little bit but I can't blame them, as each one had to have HOURS of recorded dialogue, and it couldn't all have been top-shelf, especially since the Chaps weren't actually writing it.

Oh man, that email. I made a sprite version of 'The Pardack' and sent it to the site as fanart way back when it hit, don't think it ever was featured though. It wasn't that good anyway. But I did just dig it up on my hard drive:

I love it when someone claims Strong Bad is losing his edge or that he looks old and he makes a hilariously futile attempt to prove them wrong.

I was thinking about this one a lot last night because it's one of the best, on a website where practically every cartoon is The Best, but this one just hits so many notes perfectly.

Awww, there there Homestar. It's not so bad. Everybody thinks I'm a broom.

*Alarm and disgust* You're not a broom??

Double Post:

Homsar: Heeeyeey Tubs! You just lost my Jenga Jam!

Bubs: Don't you talk to me!

The comic timing is so perfect in that exchange.

There was a convention I was at where they wallpapered one wall with paper so that people could draw whatever.

I drew Trogdor.

The next day, there was a note chewing me out. I'd forgotten the lines of majesty.

You may as well draw a Peasant, and have him be "not on fire". That's not right, man.

The whiteboard in our lunchroom once had a note about people adding items that aren't possible to purchase, with the note "Accounting is the gatekeeper!".

Someone changed that to "Trogdor is the gatekeeper!". I drew Trogdor. Then someone changed it to "Trogdor is burninating!", I drew a hut, someone drew a peasant, etc.

We ended up with a burning village, a lot of impressively drawn burning peasant portraits and Trogdors of varying quality. Sadly it was erased the next time the lunchroom was restocked.

protip- you can just hit tab, and it will cycle through all the clickable parts of the email.

for my money, the best email was the one where homsar hosted a children's show.

I really like this-a one for Strong Bad's Grammar songs. And I still sometimes say 'Hoight!' to myself whenever stepping away from anything quickly.

Plus all the news show stuff.

"Tonight folks! And have a great job!"

Yeah, I posted the YouTube version of that one about a page ago.

I still use the "Ooooh, if it's supposed to be possessive, it's just its..." jingle to keep that particular rule straight in my head.

Scalawag!

Cool Things is probably my favorite regular Non-SBEmail or Holiday Cartoon. It's just so meandery and silly and all the characters are knocking it out.

That's impossible! He moved away after fifth grade!

Oh! I never noticed that they actually put A Decemberween Mackerel on the main site. Though it's still oddly gigantic and requires me to shrink the browser scale to see it all. Also the higher sound quality makes Marzipan sound different.
