Default The "Not worth its own thread" thread

I go on aspecialthing.com, where someone posted a thread with this name, and I figured it was a good idea, since it allows for the discussion of inconsequential bullshit. Especially inconsequential.

Is Zone of the Enders 2 good? It got good reviews, but so do plenty of crappy games. All I really know about Kojima is that I like Metal Gear Solid 1 a lot.

Oh, and I'm playing Dragon Quarter and I like it.

But Zone of the Enders 2 deserves its own thread!

This thread is ripe for a Persona 3 takeover.

I never beat Zone of Enders 2 because of escort missions.

I like the Darkness. It's a decent shooter, but one I'll probably forget about and never think of again once I beat it.

Agreed. But it gets bonus points for Mike Patton.

Anyone else remember how ridiculously hyped Hellgate: London was? Anybody try it out? Does it love up to the hype for you?

HINT: No, it doesn't.

The PS2 Sega Ages Phantasy Star remake is soooo broken.

Final Fantasy: Dawn of Souls broken.

But I'm so far in I can't stop. All I really want to do is play Metal Gear Solid, but I sort of want to just get through this terrible disaster so me and Metal Gear can have some quality time without that pesky Phantasy Star getting in the way.

Given time, the odds of any TT thread to become about Persona 3 approaches one. It is inevitable, we simply sit back and await its inevitable coming.

I loved Persona 3, but I'm beginning to feel that Persona 3 thread derailment is becoming the new Castlevania Quotes.

the same could be said of ALL...*cough*

yeah, anyway.

I played Ace Combat for the first time the other day, and it did nothing so much as remind me of dynasty warriors, only in a boring blue background, with very little actual graphics. (you never actually see the planes you're shooting down, only the boxes representing them).

Would that be called Parish's Law?

I am re-watching Babylon 5 for about the 6th time as I have a lull in my gaming until No More Heroes comes out.

Whoa, it looks like you're writing in English, yet I don't understand what you're saying at all. I don't expect to run out of games for months, unless I suddenly have all access to my bank account cut off. (And even then I have yet to start P3...ack, now I'm part of the problem!)

I'm taking a break from portable gaming for about a month or so to get back into reading. It's kind of nice! I used to game on the way to the lab everyday, but I can squeeze in about 15 pages or so each way (I don't read quickly on public transport), so I'm gradually soldiering my way through that book I mentioned in the reading thread. I'll try to polish off this one and at least one other before busting out the DS or GBA again...although a Final Fantasy V Fun Club would probably destroy that resolution in a heartbeat.

I finished all the holiday releases I wanted to play (Mass Effect, Assassins Creed, Mario Galaxy, etc..) and I am waiting for the next couple of months worth of releases. I have said elsewhere that I don't do "backlogs" so I have no games that I missed that I desire to go back and play. There will always be games that you "miss" and to constantly try to play all of them is futile. I am still playing games (such as Ouendan 2 and Rock band), but it is only taking up a small portion of my free time.

Plus, I just traded in my Shadow Spirit 750 for a VTX 1300c and the road calls.

By merit of the demo, the game itself didn't do anything to please me, but I loved the soundtrack.

So, Super Mario Galaxy is super, super great. Lots of fun, for everyone. Is everyone else enjoying it as much as I am?

Exactly. We can't force it to happen; just assume it will at some point.

Zack and Wiki has tricked me into thinking I was on the last level at least three or four times now. I'm pretty sure I'm on the last one for reals this time, though!

If you can find a place that rents it, it's best that way. It's only 30 minutes long.

If it's the same reference that I'm thinking of, it comes from an old GI Joe episode. The Joes keep getting spooky/vague phone calls from this guy calling himself The Viper, saying that he's coming soon. They all think he's some kind of terrorist, but in the end he's just a window cleaner ("wiper") with a sort of Russian accent. Laughter all around, fade to black!

I just bought it last week (I had previously rented or borrowed it, and even that was years ago), so I'm still learning the game. I can get up to Stage 4 on one credit with default settings. And I've seen some of the later stages, and they do not look fun.

I heard that "wiper" thing from a horror short story (I cannot remember the book) when I was a kid and it turns out the guy was a wiper who wanted to wipe the car windshield windows. It was long ago and not a great book so the details are fuzzy.

Stage 4 is a huge bitch. Stage 5 is easy by comparison and then you hit the boss and like, fuck.

Stage 6 is manageable if you have all your options.

Stage 7 is where the shit really hits the fan. I don't think I've ever 1CC'd this stage alone.
