Default Mega Man Legacy Collection 2; or, "See you on my dreams!"

http://www.capcom-unity.com/capkel/b...pc-this-august

People are complaining that it does not include Mega Man and Bass, and Mega Man Soccer. I would imagine that this is because they are shit, but they also include Mega Man 8. And, arguably 7, if you think that's shit. Or 9 and 10, you might not like those either. If so, you may not wish to purchase this.

Hey

Did you know

That Mega Man 7 is good?

I have made a typo in the thread title. This is okay as it is in the spirit of Mega Man 8.

Eh. Four games, only two of which are good, and it's on zero portable platforms (not even Switch).

I'm ecstatic that 9 and 10 are getting freed from last gen jail. I was worried they'd never see the light of day again.

Ah! Four games, four of which are good, and it's on platforms (maybe even Switch someday)!

Yeah, I have Legcol 1 on 3DS. Depending on what they're doing, something like MM8 might be too much for the little console? But surely the Switch can handle it. Definitely a missed opportunity.

Mega Man Legacy Collection 2 - a poem

Mega Man
Has many fans
So they made a collection
All his fans
Did forums spam
Because it wasn't Legends

Now a new
Collection 2
Has been duly announce-ed
But all the fans have shit themselves
Cos Rock Board wasn't counted

This collection contains: one superb masterpiece, one solid Mega Man game, one okay Mega Man game, and one unforgivable crime against humanity.

Sure, I'll buy it, if only for the convenience of not having to dust off my Wii whenever I want to play MM9.

I would have happily paid full price for simple straight ports of 9 and 10 to the PC. The bonus content beyond that is just the cherry on top.

You have to admit, it would have been fucking cool to include a translated Mega Man and Bass in this collection. I guess I'm glad this thing will exist, but I don't know if I'll ever buy it. I already have these games on my creaky old PS3, which plays them more-or-less fine on my HDTV (except MM7 looks like smeary ass). Hopefully they'll change their minds and release a Switch port in the future, although I fully expect it'll cost $50 if they ever do.

I'm curious which Mega Man games are which in your ranking, because it seems they vary wildly from person to person.

I'm OK with MM7 even though I don't think it's that great. I like MM8. MM9 is a masterpiece. MM10 is the only game in this collection I don't like.

I am definitely buying this.

Truly, there is nothing more offensive to a Mega Man fan than the release of a Mega Man game.

Swap MM10 and MM8 and we're on the same page. 9 is nothing less than pure joy, and 10 was a bit of a step down from that but still really enjoyable, especially if you play as Bass. I think 7 is pretty middling overall but gets more hate than it deserves, other than that absolutely miserable Wily Machine fight. My body rejected MM8 entirely, and I barely survived the experience.

You forgot Mega Man: The Power Battles. I would also buy this.

Any word if this is also Digital Eclipse? I haven't seen anyone mention it, including Frank Cifaldi.

Does anyone remember that part in Mallrats with the fortune teller who takes her bra off and then she's got an extra nipple and Jason Lee is horrified?

That scene is Mega Man Legacy Collection 2.

The prospect of having 9 and 10 on a computer, and playing Dreaming of Electric Sheep Man's stage with a keyboard, is a beautiful concept.

Nice. I'll be getting this one for sure. I abstained from the first collection because I already owned all the games on 3DS VC.

The only problem with 7, and its a big one, is that almost every enemy has twice as much health as it needs. Makes a lot of enemies a tedious slog, which is a serious problem for a side-scroller. Also, the Wily Capsule is some next-level bull-puckey.

It's very close to being one of the best games in the series otherwise.

The game selection doesn't bother me. Hell I'm glad MM9 and 10 get to be on modern systems. I'm just mad they're not putting it on Switch.

(I mean, between this and the Disney Afternoon collection... is Capcom just mad at Nintendo or something? If we see a Switch port of Smash 4 will Mega Man be stripped from the roster just out of spite?)

This is good because having 8 with save states means I may finally finish the damn thing.
