Okay so I've got this idea for Bloodborne 2 right, remove the dodge move entirely and replace it with a series of progressively larger and larger shields that you obtain as the game goes on.

Oh, man, that'd be great. In fact, they should add mechanics that let you dual-wield shields to block more powerful attacks until you get a giant, two-handed spiked shield that enemies just run into, killing them.

I really like Dark Souls, but the thing is, I was thinking it would be WAY better if it was a turn based roguelike in space.

Also I really REALLY like the games but they're pretty hard, so I was thinking that it should be way easier.

THAT WOULD BE THE BEST DARK DEMONS SOULSBORNE OF THEM ALL

By the way, I don't think we ever talked about all of the images that came from the original leaked video. In particular:

This is gorgeous and intriguing. There's a lot going on there. Those arches in the background remind me of the DS1 intro video, That bleeding "sun" is in front of the clouds, the huge shadow thing on the right is creepy as heck, and there are skinny little dragons flying near a castle in the background. And is everything kind of slanted towards the middle? Plus on fire? I'm really interested in finding out more about this place.

Based on the rest of the pics, I see a lot of areas that draw inspiration from all four existing games. I love the colorful green swamp and the art near the bottom that looks like a cross between The Catacombs and Huntsman's Copse. There are pictures of two different bosses that have phantom swords/bonfires, so apparently that's going to be a thing. I'm curious as to how the risk/reward of creating bonfires would work. There seems to be some kind of shadow/tree growth on some of the buildings in the background that looks pretty neat. Oh, and the player is shown launching an enemy in to the air, which is new (aside from greatsword golf swings). I'm hoping that they get back to adding more new mechanics and bring back some of the improvements that DS2 made.

I kind of burned out on Dark Souls after playing through DS2, Bloodborne, and SOTFS several times in a row, but I'm sure seeing a new trailer will get me playing again. And there's Bloodborne DLC coming! How the heck are they making so much content so quickly?

I loaded the Talking Time homepage in my Browser while this thread was still called "Dark Poop 3," but by the time I clicked the link to the thread the title had changed to "Dark Souls 3."

That experience was far funnier than it had any right to be.

Is the leaked stuff officially confirmed as real, or are they declining to comment?

They haven't confirmed anything, but those screenshots would be hard to fake.

Yeah, if this ends up somehow being a hoax it's one of the most impressive of all time.

Sure, but if they have officially announced anything then it changes the way I view how far the development is and how interested I am in general. Has the game itself been announced?

Is that Anor Londo? Is that the Crown of the Ivory King? Is that The Giant Lord?

Who in the heck keeps building these giant castles? I want to see a partially finished castle where the workers have all turned into zombies before it was completed.

Anyway, that wasn't the most exciting trailer ever but I'll be buying it the day it comes out.

Some of that looks exactly like Bloodborne, not that that's a bad thing really.

Nope!

Damn, I hope that the game keeps Bloodborne's increased fluidity of combat

Dark Souls 3 closed door demo impressions:

Fextralife

IGN

Reddit user Frostitutes

Gamespot

Gematsu

I'm still working my way through all of this, but so far it sounds really cool!

Oh, snap, thanks for posting this (and for generally staying on top of this -- it's nice having it all in one place!)

I'd actually prefer a break from Miyazaki and co.'s projects. Bloodborne was/is great, and I'd like to have some time to get on more intimate terms with its world, secrets, and emotional interiority without having to consider another follow-up on the horizon. But, this is From Software, who made four King's Field games and pumped out a billion Armored Core titles to an audience of five-hundred people; so this ferocious approach to iterative development when they have a bigger playership than ever is expected, I guess.

Playing DS3 at some point feels like an inevitability; I'm just concerned that the design structure has become too well understood and too patterned now, four comparable games later, and that it will need to have some serious reworking if it's going to have the imaginative pull the first Dark Souls had. There's also the issue of diminished returns, but that can't be avoided unless there's a serious overhaul of the entire system, and From obviously isn't planning to do that. So I think one of the most important tasks DS3 has is in surrounding itself with new and seemingly unexplainable details, especially now that everyone is readier than ever to dig their claws into a new Souls-y game and plumb its narrative and mechanical mysteries. One example of that in Dark Souls was the (very flawed, but very cool) Gravelord covenant and its effect upon NG+ players.

Sorry about that, they automatically resized on my computer so I didn't know it was an issue. Does putting them in spoilerpop work?

A break for who? You? Nobody is holding a gun to your head, skip a game if you feel burnt out on them.
