A vote for 80s-90s PC music is a vote for Talking Time!

The others are evil Bronto choices. Sad!

TV Themes is the way and the truth here, if only because the only PC games I played in the 80s-90s are Carmen Sandiego, Oregon Trail, and Star Wars: TIE Fighter, and I don't remember the music from any of them.

Personally I find mystery enchanting. And unused or unreleased songs are among the most mysterious bits of video game history of all. Why weren't these songs used? Why did they still end up on the game's code? How does the composer feel about a track that isn't used? And is a song that was cut actually better than one that made it into the final game? Thus my vote for unused/unreleased tracks.

If we go with the unused music dome, "Singing Mountain" will win, unless they disqualify it on the basis that they used it in the DS version.

Well, that was the first piece of unused video game music I could think of, and it took me a while to think of a second (the second track on Symphony of the Night disc; don't tell me you never played that redbook audio track).

What did they use it for in the DS version?

It plays in an area in the less awful of the two bonus dungeons.

To drum up interest for the unused-dome, I'll preemptively post my nominations:

1) Skate or Die 2 - Unused
2) Hebereke no Popoon - Unused

Regarding "Unreleased/Unused Game Music"; by definition won't it be hard for most of us to think of nominees?

Yeah, probably, which is why I'd likely make it a relatively small dome -- 32 nominations? Criteria would probably be music from unreleased games, music that went unused, prototype arrangements, and music that was significantly truncated in the final version.

I have an abiding fondness for the melancholic strains of "Deionarra's Theme" from Planescape: Torment and consequently cast my vote for 80s-90s PC Game Music.

What about a bloodome for unused vocal themes from 80s-90s PC games?

Is there a good database for songs fitting some and/or all of this criteria to look through?

TCRF has a category for unused music that may help. If this ends up being the dome we go with and anyone finds music that isn't on youtube, let me know and I can upload it.

Would prototype games not released in English but otherwise released in their home country count?

I would say no, unless the music itself is significantly different from the Japanese release.

Arguable edge case: If someone were to nominate something like, say, a track from the sound novels that were cut from the English versions of Final Fantasy Tactics, I'd probably allow it.

Oh wow, it tied up at almost the last minute.

If someone wants to rescue me from committing to a Thunderdome during my busiest time of year at work, I've already got some wonderful 80-90s PC game nominations lined up~

If it ends tied both domes will happen and you and False can decide who goes first (preferably by steel-cage match but a civilized agreement is fine too, I suppose).

Indeed, False and Regulus will be doing the next two domes. The order remains to be seen.
